This thread is here for you to use to post about anything in TWC Downloads that needs to be corrected by TWC Downloads Staff.

Here you can post about:

• broken, missing, or dead download links
• spam on the comment section of the mod (either by bots or humans)
• blocked images as well as missing or dead image links
• mods that are no longer available - if you still own a copy, share them with us and we will restore the download link of the mod in question

Please provide as much information (current mod link, other mirrors etc) as possible for the mod in question as that will help the Downloads Staff.

Milner's Shadows of war mod are now mirrored on TAL. That was possible thanks to Warcrafthero and his mirror on MEGA, so rep him when you see him.

If it weren't for you I would probably never notice that the posted link to a picture was blocked by ImageShack, so I added a staff message.

The picture is blocked by ImageShack and to view the picture requires registration.

Could anyone from the Modding Staff move the pictures here to here as the first link goes to a mod entry that has no file added due for being infected by a virus?

It serves no purpose to have pictures added to a dead mod entry does it while the other mod entry needs the pictures. Just to avoid confusing.

Malware may be embedded within the picture files. Therefore, I'm not going to do so and won't recommend modding staff to do so.

But I've added a comment that pictures may be viewed at users own risk.

I have checked each image in sequence with virustotal, let malwarebytes take a look and done a blind test of opening them for good measure in a safe enough environment. Don't worry about it. Any further apprehension is needless paranoia.

The picture links in the text are simply dead - imageshack and divshare based.

The pictures in the 'images' section are perfectly safe where I am concerned, underneath the links to them, no alarms by the way when opening the pics. I would suggest to use the links in the main text as otherwise you would need to download them and then attach.

I reckon he had a similar issue I have faced myself occasionally - some overeager AV identifying a BAT file as virus, installers themselves fall victim to it as well. In the case here the application is designed to alter files, no surprise then it might raise an alarm if it hasn't been programmed with an AV check in mind.

I am doing that but what is the point if there is no statement from hex/content about its legality?

at least I have not seen one but that might me due my struggling to access TWC because of the bad internet here

The report button does work, but only hex get the reports.

Also, when using the "Link to file" feature the uploader need to manually add the total bytes and it cannot be higher than 4 Gb.

Memory editing was attempted first a few years ago at TWC, the group still exists but fell dormant after a while due to RL commitment of the essential members.

Between myself, GED and Lusted we were all fine with it back in 2014, not sure if I still have the original PM, but you can find it here.

the issue has been discussed in depth and the decision\guideline is as follows:

You have a go ahead from GrnEyedDvl (TWC owner) and Jack Lusted (CA member). No altered exes, and no game exes provided, but altering values in the memory is ok.

I doubt it is memory editing, instead it looks like it's an extra exe, which I think violates the ToS.

Btw... I suggest that this thread is moved to the Q & S forum since we are talking about the ToS, which is not allowed to do outside the Administrative area.

You mean this set of posts, surely. As for exe, does that mean a change to the base executable, or also adding executables alongside the game? I thought the latter was fine and that CA's bone lies in doing the former.

His app is in form of an executable** - to check whether the game's executable gets modified simply do a checksum check (I used this) of it before, during and after running the game with the app.

That's what I did for the other one and I found no changes - that thread is still in the 'WiPs and Proposals' forum, maybe ask the OP if it's fine to move to released mods?.

** Stainless Steel's launcher is an exe as well.
