    Default Old Units Added Back to MOS 1.7 [OUAB] version 1.5 RELEASED

    Hello everybody

    I have made a submod for MOS 1.7
    It does the following,
    it makes gondor citadel guard archers, gondor winged swordsmen and gondor dismounted bodyguard recruitable in campaign again.
    At the max level of the achery range/barracks in both cities and castles.
    If there are isusses report them and I will try to fix them.

    Changelog
    1.0 mod released
    1.1 added backup file to allow for a easy uninstall if you want to
    1.2 make the AI capable of recruiting them too I think I forgot that last time in 1.1
    1.3 remake and reuploaded the mod
    1.4 fixed issue with the mod crashing
    1.5 fixed double entry for citadel guard archers

    INSTALATION INTRUCTIONS PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
    1 ensure you have MOS 1.7 installed AND the all inclusive patch installed
    2 after that extract the RAR file to you ...Medieval II Total War/mods/Third_Age_3/data folder
    3 if asked to overwrite click yes to all
    4 run the cleaner bat in your third age 3 folder NECESARRY IT WILL CHRASH WHITOUT IT!!!!
    5 play!!!!
    6 [OPTIONAL] if you want to uninstall the mod just go to your third age 3/data folder and rename export descr building to export descr building modded and export descr building backup to export descr building done
    how to rename a file just right mouse click the fle you want to rename click porperties click edit name or change name and you can change the files name

    combitable and incombitable submods

    combitable submods
    *gondor marka barded horses submod by roma_victrix
    *the the hobbit dwarves submod by king brian
    *all elven armour patches made by director and veteraan [look under want some more content for MOS 1.7 or make a few changes click the content box directly under it then click on the spoiler under the silver to gold and vice versa armour patches for high and lorien elves]

    incombitable submods
    the MOS echanced submod


    those marked whit an * are not tested but I presume that they are since they edit only the battle models DB IIRC wich my mod does not
    if I am wrong or there are more submods that I forgot please tell me so I can add them to the list


    PERMISSIONS
    if my download fails everybody is free to upload it to wherever they want

    CREDITS
    MOS team for the uints themselves and for leaving the uints in the EDU making it easier for me to add them back
    Greymane for fixing a chrash during the development proccess whitout his help this mod would never have been released
    maeco98 for making the mod request and thus stimulating me to make my first mod EVER
    Veteraan for sending me the necessary unedited MOS 1.7 files so I could remake this mod
    Roma_Victrix for eporting that version 1.4 had crashes

    It does indeed crash when starting a campaign. Running the "Cleaner.bat" fixes that however (I tested it).

    @atthias: Please update your install instructions to include "run the Cleaner.bat after installing the mod".

    It might be a good idea to add that this mod is most likely not compatible with most other submods for MOS as it replaces the complete "export_descr_buildings.txt" file. It may also be a good thing to copy the original "export_descr_buildings.txt" file before installing the mod.

    I'm not sure it will crash for everybody. It did for me and Kindjal83. The strange thing is, it crashed when I installed the mod and did not run the Cleaner.bat. It did not crash after I ran the Cleaner.bat. But when I put back the original "exp_descr_buildings.txt" file (without running the Cleaner.bat) it didn't crash also.

    So it might not crash for everybody, but running the Cleaner.bat is a very small effort, so it's probably best to have that in the instructions just in case.

    Thanks for making this sub-mod - I know I'm looking forward to having Gondor's full roster at hand. It seems as though the download link is no longer available... is there any way to access the download currently?

    it maybe though that the data is lost but I will ask f someone has a copy laying around if not I will remake it

    Hey, just letting you know that your submod makes my game crash to desktop right at the beginning screen, even after running the cleaning bat, and all I get is this for the log:

    After investigating the export_descr_buildings file, it seems like you made a silly error, because your entries in that file state "gondor citadel guard archers" when the export_descr_unit file clearly just has "Citadel Guard Archers" as the name of that unit. Your file also doesn't have Winged Swordsmen at all; I had to add it manually. How has nobody ever checked on this before? How am I the first one to do so in three years when this is listed as a major submod for MOS?

    Recommended is not the same as major AFAIK.

    Great work, Atthias! I would give you rep for this but I've done so too recently, apparently. It's always good to see corrections and progress on these mods. MOS certainly could use some interesting new features to spruce it up, so this is commendable work.
