Also, given that so many herds (including the first Ptolemaic herd and even Alexander III's initial herd) were captured from defeated armies, has anyone given thought to using the captured phalanx mechanic to represent capturing war elephants?

We did think about it, but discounted it in the end. An elephant or two isn't really sustainable as a proper unit.

New unit on feed! Very nice - always good to see hellenistic unit. Can we hope for another (not previewed) unit for pontos and especially Baktria in 2.3.?

They're not a Hellenistic unit, strictly speaking, they're a native Egyptian one. They do mean you'll see a lot less Greek units in Egypt (outside of those from polis or colony). 2.2g will have Greeks standing in for Egyptians, due to it's lack of new units.

There's a new Baktrian unit coming soon to the feeds (as soon as we decide on its name).

Wow! An armor upgrade for the equites? I can't wait to see what that looks like. I'm sure the levy cohors will look cool too.

I usually play with Koinon Hellenon and Pergamon, though, so I'm fairly content with my heavy thorakitai once the reforms are available.
