3rd KGCM cam. Jerusalem is TOUGH!

So I like to test factions on med/med and then move forward... after getting bored with ireland and wales I decided to try on the kingdom of jerusalem.

Let me just say WOW.... That campaign is probably the toughest Ive played on a grand campaign. Im actually thinking of restarting although after 40 turns Ive finally beaten egypt back a little. We have been beating each other up pretty badly but the tide turned when FINALLY a crusading army (from antioch) took cairo.. I managed to take a city as well but before then I was actually starting to lose a little before that crusading army showed up... Does anyone have any advice on the jerusalem campaign. I initially tried for peace with egypt but all they want is for me to vassalize LOL.

Antioch LOST antioch to a jihad to the egyptians (around the same time THEY took cairo) so I am thinking I may create a new army march up there and try to take antioch from them.

You may be able to get some ideas from this AAR.

I was able to wear down Egypt by only attacking small forces, especially if a bodyguard was present. I used Sun Tzu's strategy on how to fight a numerically superior opponent to great success. I lost my save so I deleted my AAR, but it was very effective. I remember taking Dumyat as quick as possible so they have to bring in their best armies from pretty far out.

The Teutonic Order is the hardest campaign I believe.

I am up to about turn 75 in my first KOJ campaign and have about 55 regions. I immediately attacked Egypt with everything that I had and called a crusade against Cairo. Take out their castles asap and they can not recruit dangerous troops. Recruit cavalry and charge their archers in field battles. All of Egypt's power seems to be near Cairo and Alexandria at the start and I did not have to worry about them attacking me from the south or east.

Yep. I was invaded from 4 sides at one point and barely 40-50 turns in!

BTW won with Norway on Very Hard Garrison script and it is truly hard but that's cause Norway starts terrible can win with any other faction in half the time........ yes got garrison scrip on.
