The mod has now been updated! Included are among others, Philetairos' Pergamon, naval mercenaries, cults, Illyrian and Kilikian Pirates, 4 new emerging factions and much more!
2022 PREVIEWSIt has been a while since I last posted updates here on the state of development, but don't worry, the mod is still being worked on and I can share some previews on what will come on the first major update in 2022
AITOLIAN LEAGUE
If you are fan of the Aitolian League, then you have reasons to be excited. The unit roster of the Aitolian League will be updated. The Pikemen will be removed, however 3 new units will join the ranks of the League! Elite Aitolian Cavalry (melee Cav), Thureophoroi Guard (Spear Inf) and Aitolian Swordsmen (Melee Inf). Note that the Thureophoroi Guard and the Aitolian Swordsmen will be available after the Thureos Reform, which the Aitolian League will be able to research faster!

Additionally, the Aitolians will receive a new, faction-unique monument chain, commemorating their historical victory over the invading Gauls.

NEW MECHANIC FOR THE CONTENDERS
The "Big 4", aka Demetrios, Pyrrhos, Lysimachos and Ptolemaios will get a new mechanic in the next update. It will allow them to move their capital to Pella if they manage to capture it.

REWORKED CAMPAIGN MAP
In the default Wrath of Sparta map, some province layouts make no sense. Why is Andros a part of Euboia? Or why do you need to control the island of Melos to get the full control over Argolis? The next update will rework the province layouts, making them more historical and more reasonable from a geographic point of view. This will also allow cities like Andros and Lysimacheia get their historic walls on the campaign map!

RHODOS
Rhodos is set to join the playable factions list in Demetrios Poliorketes! Rhodos will wield a strong and powerful navy, including fire ships! Rhodos will also have access to a little unique event, celebrating Rhodos' patron, Helios.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil...?id=2824948402
The Winter Update for Demetrios will be released (hopefully) in the coming weeks, and now I am able to share some details with you
CENTRAL GREECE
In order to make Central Greece more accurate and detailed, two new factions will be introduced on the campaign map, the Phokians and the Opountian Lokrians. Additionally, a handful new emerging factions will be introduced: Ozolian Lokris spawning at Naupaktos, the Maleians, spawning at Lamia, Pherai spawning at Pherai and Andros spawning at, well Andros

ATHENIAN ELECTIONS
Athens will get a significant new mechanic in the next update. Every year elections will be held which can starkly shake up the influence in the Assembly, as well as give nationwide effects regarding corruption, public order etc. In order to win, there will be a series of events where you must invest in your faction in order to try to win. The elections will have 5 different outcomes, depending on what choices you made.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Furthermore, while still allied with Demetrios (being a vassal mechanically counts as being an ally) or while not having researched a new technology, an additional event will generate, representing the Macedonian Opposition, stirring up some trouble
SPARTA
Sparta will also receive some attention in the next update. Included are a new government effect bundle to represent the Diarchy that Sparta had, as well as a new event, the Festivals of Karneia. The festivals of Karneia were celebrated in honour of Apollon. During these festivals, the Spartans ceased military operations, which will also be represented in the mod. Your armies will get immobilized for 2 turns after the event generates, which will do every August
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Not to be done with unique events, Demetrios will receive one of his own; the Demetrieian Games. Historically they were held in the Nesiotic League (as well as in Euboia) in his honour. When you play as Demetrios and you are allied with the Nesiotic League this unique event will generate.

FURTHER CHANGES
The Aitolians will also get two unique events to represent the two Assemblies they held each year, the Thermika and the Panaitolika. The Thermika will be focused on civil/politics while the Panaitolika will focus on military matters, as historically the Panaitolika were arranged in such a way as to coincide with the raising of the army after winter. Also a civil war faction will be added for the Aitolians.
Philetairos' betrayal will be a new mechanic for Pergamon in the next update. So when you play as Philetairos and betray Lysimachos, Lysimachos will not sit idle but instead dispatch troops to quickly retake Pergamon, so be prepared for a fight over the treasury!

2023 Spring/Summer Update Previews
The next update for Demetrios Poliorketes is coming closer and closer, so it is time for some previews
RETURN OF LYSIMACHEIA
Playing as Philetairos, if you happen to somehow have Lysimacheia in your hands, you will have the option to return it to Lysimachos, being rewarded with large sums of gold and other generous rewards, or keep it for yourself, breaking away from Lysimachos' Kingdom in the process. War will be automatically declared with Lysimachos in that case, so decide wisely.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
BLACK SEA TOLLS
A new event available once you control the city of Byzantion. You will be able to decide what kind of tolls will be imposed on ships wanting to sail into the Black Sea. Higher Tolls will give you higher income from tariffs, but will make you unpopular with other factions and vice versa. Historically this was a cause of conflict between merchants and the Byzantines, and the Rhodians, who were considered the supreme maritime authority and were often called by merchants to solve these disputes (Read Polybios' "The Histories" if you want to read more about it)
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
LYSIMACHOS' DACIAN CAMPAIGN
The Dacian campaign of Lysimachos from 292 B.C. will be simulated in the mod in the form of a series of events. The events you will receive may vary a bit from playthrough to playthrough, but their gist remains the same. Your decisions on tactical matters and investment will result in a different outcome each time. Making the right choices may even reward you with an otherwise inaccessible resource Making the wrong choices may result to the Dacians being the ones invading instead.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
NEW RHODIAN MECHANICS
Rhodes will also have a new mechanic available to them in the next update. If you fully control the Dodecanese, Crete and Phaselis the Kilikian Pirates will stop spawning. Additionally, you will have the choice to receive a fleet of otherwise unavailable units at your disposal, just consider that piracy was highly frowned upon in Ancient Greece, so you may make some new enemies that way
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
EMERGING FACTIONS
A staple of every update, this time being no exception.Abdera, Maroneia Samos and Mytilene are all planned to become emerging factions in the next update, with perhaps some more coming as well.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
RELIGIOUS GAMES
An important part of Ancient Greek life and culture, were various religious festivals and their associated games. In the next update, the Clarian Games (At Claros in A. Minor, dedicated to Apollon, in game bound to the settlement of Smyrna) and the Naian Games (At Dodona, dedicated to Zeus) will appear.
