Well, in theory yes, since the engine of Empire was developed for musket warfare.
But on the other hand, this team can create a new campaign map, while we (B&G) not (atm) and also scripting wise Medieval has a little advantage, so there are always pros and cons .

A nice twist on the Brittania campaign way of using it. Makes sense.

This is an unique mod. Did you create new animations so there will be bayonet charges?

In a first time, we use vanilla animation. For example, halberd charge and pikemen charge seem's realistic when soldiers have bayonet.
I decided to use axe animation for unit without bayonet.

But I hope we will create more realistic animation... when an animation programmer will join our team....

So they will have a rifle with bayonet when charging, right? I agree that the pikemen charge can mimic very well a bayonet charge.
