Re: Wells Cathedral: Seat of Bishop John Cameron (Event: Lord Gregor's Wedding)
The Bishop was waiting at the altar, while the guests were flooding into the church. Once the seats were filled, the ceremony began. The guests sat in silence for a long period of time, until finally the climax came. Lord Gregor, edorned in exquisite clothes from Italy and Greece, was standing at the altar sweating due to anxiety and pacing slowly. He heard footsteps behind him, and was about to turn before he regained his consciousness, then he said to himself quietly, "Phew, So this is it." He breathed deeply and then looked down towards his feet.
Behind him, his bride and her father were still coming forward slow and deliberately, with each step bringing Lord Gregor and his bride closer together. Finally, after a long minute had past, they reached the altar, and Sir Aves returned to his seat. Elizabeth stepped forward and grasped Lord Gregor's hand. Shocked, the Duke recoiled slightly before regaining his composure.
With the couple now standing in front of him, The Bishop smiled and then began. He read the prayers, and went through the traditional passes of the marriage ceremony. Finally, he came to the vows, first he turned to Lord Gregor, and then spoke, "Do you, Lord Gregor, take Elizabeth Aves to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part?"
After a short pause, John looked up at Lord Gregor, and whispered softly, "Lord Gregor? Your Response?"
