I was wondering if anyone could provide me with the list or some kind of directions to where I can find unit names? You know the ones you have to type in ~ create_unit "Settlement_Name" "Unit_Name" 1 4 2 2. In vanilla you just have to save an army preset from custom battle mode and all the unit names are in that file. However, in RS the file contains unreadable characters instead of Latin letters.

I see the question was asked 7 years ago. surprised as I see none for a response. I have just dusted off the game and gave RS3 try and came to an understanding I need the unit Ids like the OP asked. is there any way we can find out the unit id for all the factions?

Well, not many people playing is one thing - and, indeed, because this isn't a part of playing the game! 
In short, however, you would need both the information from the EDB (iirc) to track the correct Settlement name and the corresponding detail from the EDU...
