Total War XL mod. Help!

I just reeinstalled Medieval Total war I(vanilla i guess) and copied over the crack file. Then i installed the "Total War XL"- mod to be able to play as Sweden. But when i start the game a textbox emerges and says something about a not valid name but then the game starts up fine anyway. And in the selectionscreen there is a nice "total war XL" logo in the background. Yet when i try to select a single player campaign there are no choises and the map i totally blank. No options, nothing. So whatteheck went wrong?
