They can't wield spears. All of them must wield swords or pole arms, but never mixed.Equipment: Hand weapon, shield, lightarmour and pole-arm (counts as a halberd
They can; it's in the army book, page 69.They can't wield spears. All of them must wield swords or pole arms, but never mixed.
a few remarks (nevertheless): -The skirt.
-The shield (strange).
-They have all swords (No spear).
However its a good job.
Sixth edition. What edition mate? Can you send me that page please?
Nice preview but they could have a more dark ages medieval look and the shields are a little too fancy for them. Id use simple tower shields or maybe kite shields for some of them. Id remove the chest plates or keep them to a minimum and keep only mail. I would replace the mail skirts for simple cloth skirts. They need more leather, more cloth, more ring mail, padded armour. I would use simple colours in the clothing and use colourful stuff only in the heraldry. And, yes, they actually can have mixture of different weapons. Here are a few concepts I scanned:

They're not dark ages. They're 14th-15th century. Late medieval. Hundred Years War. They're just armed peasants, so they have crappier armor than they otherwise would. They've got kettle helms, partial plate, pavises, etc.
Mind you, that's only their cultural aesthetic. They have a 17th century navy.
In the tabletop game the polearms give them +1 Strenght, while the One handed weapons plus Shield give them +2 Armour Save.
The whole unit must use the same type of weapons even if your miniatures have a mix. You must chose one type.
It's like the skeletons units for the undead. You can equip your miniatures with swords and/or spears, but when you play a battle you must specify what kind of weapon they are wielding.
That's what I saidWe will make pole arms and spear versions later anyways.
Well, here I come:
1) Excellent job, they look great.
2) Bretonnian army takes inspiration from the late 13th/early 14th century France, before the Hundred Years war; you can clearly see that from the mixture between heavy mail and half plate armour, the weapons (still no estocs, no polaxes, basic halberds, no flanged maces, etc) and the fact Bretonnia statal structure, burocracy and administration doesn't go beyond half 13th century at best, more or less the reign of Louis IX.
3) That kind of shield does really exist, it's called german shield and was used in the 15th Germany's tournaments, with the hole supporting the lance. Well, besides being out of place here the hole should be on the right sidebut they're still awesome.
4) You guys have no fault for it, but calling this stinking peasants men-at-arms is utterly, totally and completely wrong: men-at-arms were all those who fought as heavy cavalry, knighted or not, and not this bunch of smelly amateurs waving swords . Or polearms, it's all the same.....

I think it is pointless to argue wether they are inspired form 12th, 13th, 14th century, whatever. Point is they dont look like the minifigures or the concept art in the books. There is plenty of material to visualize them so we dont need rethorical argumentations like in the tolkien forums.
Very early 14th in this case because the legal relationships between lords in general and the central power (the head of state/the king) are to the advantage of the king since philippe auguste (12 and 13th century).
And about the administration (you enter in my realm/administrativ law), the institution of the bretonnian are not enough developed, not as the institutions in france in 13 and 14th,in bretonnia the best institution of administration is the lord and this realm, becides it is not only an administration (he has some prerogatives like a central power),becides he is not only a public person , he is private person too ,it is not a very modern system.
I don't say it is a bad system but it doesn't look like the 13 or 14th century.![]()
It may well be as you say, my forte are weapons, armours and medieval fencing, not the administrative side.
