One, admittedly it makes it easier for the archers, but i always use 1hp
Also, I'm kind of sad that no superpower is developing to challenge me. I never really got to the point in any of the games I've played in total war, vanilla or mods, where it was just me and one or two giant empires so I was looking forward to (as weird as it might seem) facing an enemy at least as strong as me such as a giant Parthia or Seleucid Empire. I'll probably start playing on hard after I finish this campaign. I've played all my campaigns on medium since I started playing total war (only about a year ago) and assuming I make it all the way through this campaign I think it would be fun to have a bit more of a challenge.
Nice Roman Empire you're carving out there. Going after the Ptolemies sounds like a good plan, do you intend to conquer down to Ethiopia too? I did I my Rome campaign, the result was Saba constantly sending stacks over and forcing me to take Arabia as well. If Parthia keeps going the way it is you are in for a good fight with them (I hate fighting them!), and if you are playing with the 1HP system be prepared for a long fight.
they havent just beaten macedon, they are also on the offensive against romeWhat?! Greece actually managed to overcome Macedon?! Unbelievable!
And i dislike baktrian campaigns, its ato come up with money. I've tried it 3 times and 2 out of those 3 i had to do add_money 5000 to retrain my troops. Invading seleucia is a good move if Parthia maintains its alliance with you for a long time and actually helps softening TSE armies, but if you get Parthia as an enemy early on, you're practicly screwed cause just a few turns later, most of the time anyway, you'll get TSE invading you, and combine that with not having enough money and you'll have a screwed campaign.
Thankfully I'm playing on the 2HP system, so Parthia should be a tad easier to take on if they end up becoming a superpower. I personally hope Bactria miraculously manages to take on Parthia to become a superpower because I always thought Bactria was one of the coolest factions with their mix of Hellenistic and eastern style troops. I do think I'll try and take on the Ptolemies next as soon as I manage to secure my borders in Greece. How much of the Ptolemies land actually tends to be Western Civilized? I know some of it is eastern and I really don't feel like converting their entire empire.
they havent just beaten macedon, they are also on the offensive against rome
by the time TSE broke the alliance i had already destroyed parthia and ek's small empire in the east
as pointed out earlier i also failed the first few times
the romans continue to lose to the greeks![]()
i look forward to battling them![]()
i just found out why rome is losing, its armies refuse to move from massilia![]()
i like the baktrians units and their relative position on the map, its a pity that i cant mass produce their elite units![]()

the year is 223 bc and i now have onle 1 enemy, GREEK INDIES!!! the little fools decided to join pontus and attacked my ports in asia minor. i have broken my alliance with rome in in favour of an alliance with greece and i gave some land to the egyptians for some unknown reason![]()
now im just going to watch and see what happens
rome has managed to stall greece and both sides are evenly matched in italy although greece is sending another stack down
standard requirement is to outlast or destroy TSE and hold 15 settlementsLooking good, go Blues! How about some cool battle action shots to put in the screenshots thread? What are your campaign victory requirements? Spread some rep your way when you achieve them
Hi Grimbold, nice campaign you got going but can you put your screenshots in a spoiler please to decrease the page loading time, thanks![]()
standard requirement is to outlast or destroy TSE and hold 15 settlements
full campaign i believe is the same as most others (50 settlements and roma)
about the screenshots, i wont be battleing now but i might be able to recreate one using the skirmish if that will do
might get 1 or 2 units wrong though

it just means you need to consolidate your position before starting more warsSpending several turns forcing / quelling rebellions is no fun. A sign that my empire is too large alrdy?

the greek indies dont really have much military power so i wouldnt count them as real battles but i could do them
Grimbold Spending several turns forcing / quelling rebellions is no fun. A sign that my empire is too large alrdy?
I wouldnt call it fast expansion. The only major conquest i did was Gaul and those are barbarian lands, they always tend to rebel, although micro managing the loyalty of these settlements is a pain.
Im talking about more individual cases, which gradually show signs of rebellion, for example i had to force rebellions in Arretium, Tarsus and Antioch.
Im a fan of the tactic i used in vanilla. You want to rebel? Fine. Lets out the garrison, set the tax level to very high. Result? I end up earning 10000-20000 denarii from the slaughter of the "ungratefull swine!"
Edit: Martin are u playing with loyalty on?
Those gradual signs of rebellion are easily solved by recruitment from the city of the biggest unit and garrisoning that unit there, or building a happiness/law building/wall/ etc or lower taxes. High influence governors (send come of age FMs to Athens and Pergamom and leave them there for 5-10 years) are a must whilst trying to get a particularly troublesome city under control. Letting them rebel should be a last resort thing, you are only hurting your Empire in the long run as you will take longer to turn those cities into top tier giving you more income in trade and taxes.
Also want to know how the loyalty thing is going Martin, to much extra grief for me to bother with?
