This one isn't that great but I'll post it anyway.

Custom battle as Austria:

Prussian cavalry-charge.

Re: PICTURES HERE

Couple of shots from the Seige of Turin 1715 I played this evening.
defendingthecaponiere.jpg
Whilst the main bombardment was taking place on the far side of the fort this special strike team of picked light infantry scaled the walls on the other side of the fort and succeeded in taking out the enemies artillery and cavalry reserve before their infantry could react. Having done their job they tried to make it back to their scaling ropes but were cut off and forced to retreat to one of the bastions where they made a gallant last ditch stand defending the caponiere until they were finally overrun.
crazyhorses.jpg
I've noticed that the BAI now cheats with Dragoons. If they charge your infantry and you form square they immediately jump off their horses and fight on foot, but as soon as you click to form line again they jump straight back on their horses. Considering, how long it normally takes for dragoons to mount and dismount this is an amazing and blatant bit of cheating by by the AI.

However, what was amusing in this case was that even after I'd killed all the dragoons their horses kept fighting. They didn't do any damage but just kept kicking my men to ruin their aim. When I finally moved my infantry out of their way they simply ran up to another one of my units and started kicking them instead.

Re: PICTURES HERE

HAHA My friend. Shall we see Suleiman's boast of watering the Turkish horses on the banks of the Rhine be fulfilled? I certainly hope so, those filthy Germans should be shown the light of the Sultan's rule.
Almost! These pork-eaters had It coming...
Having enlisted more men to refill the Western Army ranks, the newly appointed Orgeneral Orçan strikes back at the Krauts... I mean Westphalians, because Prussians are pork eaters too but they're useful friends & brave soldiers so let's forgive them.

Winter in Ülm

Orçan has crossed the bridge near Ülm and the army invaded the leisure city. Our Janissaries were partying hard in Ülm's brothels when the last Westphalian army appeared (AI Turn). Let's crush these fools once and for all! So we confronted them despite the snow, the wind and that damn' blizzard.

As an expert gunner, Orçan placed his 18lb. and 24 lb. Gun Batteries up the hill on the left flank, protected by pikes (set by Nizam Light Inf.) and good old Isalerys. They were a major asset on this battle, constantly stomping the Germans.
ottomanguns.jpg
Rumble, rumble... The Beylik Grenadiers prepare to fight. Center: drummer & staff sergeant.
beylikgrenadiers1.jpg
The Nizam Light Infantry crosses the snowy woods to get in position, unseen but ready to shoot.
mizamlight.jpg
All the right flank has moved to outflank the enemy. The Nizam-I-Cedid line infantry is waiting for the enemy to advance further and fall in the trap. At their feet lies a Westphalian Mounted Gun Battery from a previous fight.
nizamwinter.jpg
All the right flank moves again. The Westphalians are still numerous but already surrounded. We have the hills, the best positions, and a constant artillery fire, plus the Beyliks grenades.

After a hell of shooting and firing, the Westphalians were decimated but coudn not run away. We slaughter them and no one escaped this time.
nizamcharge.jpg
Now, back to the brothels

After that battle (on next Turn) the deceitful French took advantage of the situation by... invading and destroying undefended Westphalia! Those wine drunkards took away our victory!! Our hashashin spies forgot to tell us that they had already crossed the Rhine to seize Köln. Too bad...

So, in despise, Orgeneral Orçan went back to Venice and took the first galley to sail to the Carribeans. There are some Islands there to take, and the weather is far far better!
After the blonde bombshells of Germany let's "try" the Hot Latinas of the Carribeans. Olé!

Next: a probable naval battle, the Sultan's Chebeks vs. the Pirates!!!

Really great!!! :thumbsup2

...and you have high graphic settings unlike me (dam' laptop) that makes a difference. Good angles (and that's talent not graphic) and dynamics, so congrats.

Is that from the American Revolution mod or from the Road to Independence campaign?

Thanks for the compliments Big Pasha:thumbsup2
You're welcome ;) but TWC scrambled when I was +rep & editing so... what a mess.

@ Toon: Thanks. Apparently It worths the download. BTW for me TAR meant either asphalt covering or a low morality woman  but now I got it.

Re: PICTURES HERE

Excellent pictures Morgan - I cant tell from the second battle if it was lost along with Boston? Cos if you won you had around 207 men left out of 2117 deployed? :rambo:

Re: PICTURES HERE

Woops, I didnt' see MorganH's edit. Well thanks back buddy! :)

Actually I'd rather get reps for my pics & mini-AARs like my previous one HERE ;)

PS @ MorganH: you made a major publicity to The American Revoltution Mod with that Battle of Boston. I'm checking it this evening.

Re: PICTURES HERE

Yes ,Boston fell unfortunately:(

Well at least it made for pretty pictures and you were outnumbered 3-1! :)

I'm still trying to stage screenshots of a single unit being hit by as many bullets as humanly possible by pressing the fire at will button - a nice 3 image set of before being shot by 1000 rifles, during being shot by 1000 rifles and after being shot by 1000 rifles. ;)

I wonder if including grape shot, mortars and grenades is being excessive? :)

Re: PICTURES HERE

Excellent work there Big Pacha. Those beyliks are some real men, wearing those clothes in the dead of winter in Central Germany. You should destroy those treacherous French cheese eating wine drunkards, how dare they usurp the victory of the Turks?!?! To Paris I say!!! do not relent until the French capital is little more than smouldering ruins.

:hmm: Actually the situation is much more complicated.
I'm in good terms with France right now and they became very powerful, taking Algeria & Tunisia from the Moors (still my protectorate) + almost all West Germany. Only the Dutch revolted successfully and re-emerged. but then, my Prussian ally is pushing West too and I don't want to get stuck here. I'm lurking at the Pirate Islands in the Carribeans + At India, the Maratha Empire being very aggressive (Mughals were destroyed long ago).

So I will wait for Prussia to attack France (so I won't be the aggressor, good for Diplo) + step foot on the Carribeans + Prepare for the inevitable war vs. the Marathas.

Now let's have fun.

Pirates of the Ivory Coast :capn argh:

African Pirates and their scurvy brothers of the Carribeans are plundering the Ivory Coast, threatening our trade of spice, ivory, gold and slaves (ok the last 2 are not in ETW but... ;))

So, the main Ottoman War Fleet, led by a newly appointed Admiral, set sails from Morocco to sink these sea scoundrels... or better, take their ships! Let's give them back their own medicine.

The Sultan's Shebeks engage the Pirates, followed by a 4th Rank frigate and the Admiral's 3rd Rank flagship.
chebek1.jpg
Board the boarders! The 1st Pirate is almost ours. Their ranks have already been decimated by previous encounters with the Spaniards and the French.
chebek2.jpg
The second Pirate tries to go around but He can't match the Shebeks high speed & hellfire.
chebek3.jpg
As a Shebek's gun "cleans" the Pirate's bridge, our valiant Barbary Sailors prepare to board the sea scums.
chebek4.jpg
See the details of the Shebek's crew & bridge :thumbsup2

Two Pirate Ships finally surrender and the 3rd won't escape for long. Only a few pirates have survived and they can't flee as we cut most of their masts & boarded them.
chebek5.jpg
On a beautiful african sunset, the Ottoman Empire gained 3 crippled but useful Gallions. Now the fleet needs to repair & refill in Marrakech.

Sailin' Ho!

Bragging a bit :)

bragging.jpg

I play with campaign unit size multiplier at 1.5625, hence the big units. I actually got tabbed out by an IM for about half the battle, hence the disparity with that one petit-veaux unit :P

Man are you serious? you did really rank up a bit there:thumbsup2

Re: Bragging a bit :)

W00ta? Against who did you fought with that guards? Militia mobs?
Savoy in 1733. They had about 12 line infantry, a bunch of provincial cavalry and 3-4 arty batteries. It was a full stack and the line infantry even had a chevron a piece.

This was on VH/VH as well.

Re: Bragging a bit :)

Chevrons are based on the ratio of the remaining men to the total men that unit killed. So when you replenish those units, they'll not have more than a few chevrons. Nothing to brag about.

This. With fewer men per unit the easier it is to rank up, since the level is based on the kills per man. With large units, not every man gets a kill. With small units, a few kills is worth more. This way the reason why people have high ranked armies in screenshots. They play on lower unit scale. It has always been this way for TW. Sorry to rain on your parade.
