Question 1. I converted a model fron .mesh to ms3d. it was the lod0 model and i was overwhelmed to see in 3dmax that the norse swordsmen was around 5.000 polys big!!!
Then i saw that this was due to some faces being there 4 times, overlapping eachother. I mean, for example for the primary sword i have sword primary_8, sword primary_7 kai sword primary_6. For the head i have head_10, head_09 and head_01 Why is that? One model was not enough? I am confused. (And why do we need primary and plain sword anyway? One isnt enough?)
Question 2. Furthermore, when i model, should i break my model to these parts too or one head will be ebough.
Question 3. Assigning a face to multiple bones is ok in M2TW? (from max i can see we can but can someone confirm? )

Can somebody help me?

Hi,

Question 1: No it's not enough..one model would make clone armies..the game needs those variations to mix up the units look and have more various units

Question2: You can decide that..if you think one arm or head is enough for you that's your choice..:thumbsup2

Question3: Yes it's ok...even so! You'll get better result at some body parts when you assigning faces to multiple bones..(knees, shoulder, etc..)

Hope this helps

... Was about to repeat the clone armies comment which Briariuss had just made, because I didn't manage to spot it before posting
