It looks like there's conflicting evidence. The Wiki (thank goodness for that lol) says there's a point where Hermione silences someone, who proceeds to hit her with a spell that someone later says could have killed her if he had his voice for the incantation. Then, on the other hand, there seems to be plenty of instances where the Killing Curse works nonverbally, and if that one works, seems like all the rest should too.

So basically it's up to if people are actually going to nonverbally perform the spell (in which case their power is the same) or if people are muted before they can cast it. I think that if a silencing spell hits someone, then his spells would be less effective until the effect wears off.

I'd say it depends on the person and how often they use nonverbal spells. If it's Volly, it's not going to affect anything. If it's some random first-year, it's going to incapacitate him.

All spells can be performed non verbally, but obviously you need to indicate what spell you're using if you want a moderator to know what to do.

Probably relies on skill. Just as using spells without a wand.

They're both in the 70s, it will take a concerted effort to bring them down. You've been incredibly lucky with rolls up till now

Yeah I figured when she just shrugged off my flaming spells, however I still think we can get them now that Major gathered up the cavalry.

it will certainly be hard for them to cause much more devastation. I've grown rather fond of them both though. I'm going to do rolls to determine whether they will fight it out when they're outnumbered or flee and meet up with survivors. All the names Death Eaters that survived this year will remain at large and become more infamous over time

I'm glad I managed to keep Hildegard occupied since otherwise she might have caused havoc, I sure hope they stay and fight seeing how outnumbered they are and considering that our kill rate so far have been about 3-1 since the death eaters will certainly be more easily handled in the future with 20 of them dead.

Their true numbers are a closely guarded secret. Let's just say that their lack of numbers will begin to mean manifestations of the dark arts under different guises. Be very thankful LW left or the quest for the elder wand could very well have led to the analogous kicking over of a ing big ant hill.

Edward grabbed the Aurors who had just been successful in killing or capturing their Death Eaters, with them in tow, he had them all focus spells on Blackthorne and Hildegard.. Edward himself waved his wand at Hildegarrd, already distracted and weakened by Gellert, he knew he had to break the spell she was casting, even if it was just for a moment,

could it be possible for me to rp a death eater (namely Gruntz or Nogard) to attack Major's character?

Nogard could be Death Eater #10, and if he survives his battle, he then could atack him

Had those all along. Honestly given the amount of RP I've done for potions and herbology my stats there should be much higher.

Yeah, I thought yours should be higher, too, as my stats are higher than yours but you've been brewing potions and finding ingredients, while I've been chillaxing in the Hufflepuff common room

It might be a good idea to hold off on quidditch RP until the start of what for most of us will be year 2, since in about 12 hours we're all supposed to be heading home for the holidays. I don't really want any school RP being done on the weekends as a way for other people to catch up if they've missed anything, while active people can take time to do other RP such as events, holidays, train rides, and other things. We're going to have a short sorting ceremony and train ride for the new first year student(s) this weekend anyway

Severus, i think we should make a list of the "most wanted" death eaters, with a full depiction of their crimes, a background, biography... etc, and of course, their status
