Hello there,

long ago i played this mod and i realy was happy with it but i recognized a significant performance drop with this mod. However these drops only accour within multi-stack-battles. My question to alle players of a DeI-Campaign is now: How often do you fight with multistacks in DeI Campaigns (40vs40 or 30vs40 etc)? In vanilla its realy often, so you have to optimise your settings for 40vs40 battles.

Thanks

When I'm attacking, since I'm perfectly aware of my computer's limitation, I only choose 20 vs. 20 battles. But when I'm attacked by AI, AI always concentrate several stacks to achieve numerical superiority. I could not auto-resolve the battle without suffering defeat, but would have to live with lag if I choose to play it manually.

I also notice that DeI increases both number of men per unit and unit details, which contribute significantly to the performance drop. That would be nice if they can also have a submod for people with weaker computer.

I think there's also an option to disable more than 20 units per side in a battle (of course the rest will enter piecemeal as reinforcements, so not an ideal solution).

I already lower the unit size. Currently I use large unit size, where a Roman maniple has 180 men (with ultra it's 240). It's still more than vanilla's ultra unit size (160). If I choose normal size, it would be 120, a little bit too small. The best would be something in between, 150 perhaps.

Disabling large battle option will only limit my own troops to 20 units at one time, whie AI can still field its full army, thus put met at huge disadvantage.

Oh, I didn't know that. I'm surprised it doesn't limit the AI army.

I'd personally rather see a mechanic to get rid of the reinforcements then I do getting rid of multistacks. If reinforcements would be replaced by multi wave battles it would have been much better.

Battles of multiple stacks are pretty common in DEI, so I play on medium unit size with ultra graphics. To me, it's more important to have some beautiful models rather than many okay-looking models.

I used to play on large unit size, but then I fought the Germans and my computer slowed to a halt with their hordes of soldiers. I got used to medium right away and haven't really looked back :)
