Irish on the move?

I started a late campaign as the English and I was amazed to see the Irish get off their dead asses and start attacking the French. They are definately slapping around the French. HAHAHAHA!!!! Anyone else experiencing a bold Irish nation?

Yes I have too. except i am playing the early campaign. And to add to that Scotland instead of attacking england they sail over to norway and wipe them out.

Yeah, same here on the early campaign. The Irish own like 7 settlements in France and they are sieging Paris. Its kinda strange that England, Ireland, and Scotland are doing well.

Ireland is not doing that good in my early campaign. Which is disappointing.

In my game oddly enough they have completely and totally stayed on their island. Its like turn 60 and they've not moved off the island.

Same here, turn 112 and the irish are on their island undisturbed. England though is in a terrible situation, half the land is scottish and they're excommunicated since turn 50.

Ireland had never done anything at all except for take dublin on my campaigns, until I modded it a bit so they start with dublin and it has a port.

Irish ussualy atack France and take some provinces in all SS mods and submods.Problem is sometime they wipe out english in alliance with scotts or see England with 1-2 provinces in Flander.In RR France is a big power they expand in HRE with Genova, Venice, Danes and Poland.Irish are in war with English and Scotts and is posible too see them wining.

I suppose it's a good sign that in a game like this there is a lot of unpredictability. (it would be boring to have factions do the same thing every game.)

Ireland sometimes gets bogged down defending against English attacks on Dublin, but if they can get off their island quickly enough they can take Caernarvon and Exeter and start going to work on the French.

i play early so takes long time before they have ports

hmmm:hmmm:...that hasnt happend in my game, the irish have only taken dublin and have pretty much stayed out on their own. it was the scots who suprised me and took bruges and built a fort inside france. of course being the english i had to rectify the situation and take bruges .

Is it also common for the Norwegians (Or the Danes, can't remember) to sail over and exterminate Scotland and Ireland?

Also a bit unrelated...
Is there anyway for the Scots or the Irish to look a bit more...Civilized? I played the Scots once and dominated and the kilts really looked wrong out in Jerusalem on crusade.
