At the beginning of WWI, the German High Command's plan for the war was known as the Schlieffen Plan. What was the name of the French High Command's corresponding plan at the start of the war?
I think you're reffering to plan XVII, or simply plan 17.

Now a question by me, I'm not too familiar with all your historical knowledge yet, so I hope this one won't be too difficult (or too easy). Who is the man next to Hitler:

Hmmm...I´m just going after apperance right now, and haven't checked anything up, so I'll be proud if I pull it of! *tongue*

My guess is Speer, chief architect of the Third Reich and Hitler's favorite. :erm

Nope, sorry. Let me give a little background info of this picture. Hitler isn't chancellor yet, this picture was made somewhere in the late 1920's

Ernst (Putzi) Hanfstaengl!!!!!!! :cool Hopefully...
:rolleyes
Hehe, correct! *wink*

Thanks Aristolte :w00t ! But to have his piano-instructor as a question..? Might be a bit too unknown... :whistle

Ok, WWII!

This ship participated in several engagements. Pearl Harbour, Rabaul, Darwin and the Indian Ocean are locations at which she fought. She is named after a volcano.

The questions are:
The name of the ship and the type of warship.

He wasn't just his piano teacher, he subsidized Hitler's campaigns in the '20's and he became the nazi party's representative in the US after Hitler came to power. Putzi did help Hitler a lot when he was still an unknown little powermonger...and he never really taught Hitler how to play, he just did it because Hitler wanted to hear Wagner music all the time...

And here's the next person who needs identification:

Also one of Hitler's buddies in the early 20's

Anton Drexler
Ok, seems like that was an easy one. Let's see if you can find out who this fellow is:

Hint: He and Hitler didn't know each other personnaly (nor did they live at the same time).

I'm feeling rather weird today, so here goes nothing

Name which country the croissant originated and the story behind it.
The name croissant althought french was given by Austrians. The story is that when Ottomans were besieging Vienna they tried to make a tunnel below the walls in order to break them.Bakers which were working at night to deliver food to defenders heard the turks working and alarmed the defenders which destroyed the ottoman tunnel effort. As a result a new special product was made that resembled the cressent turks had and have in their flag(1/2 moon like symbol) and to make everyone remember how bakers saved the city.

Ok here is mine:Which is the only recorded case in ancient and modern Olympic games when a single person wins more than 1 winning positions in a single game in the same day?

Arsenic is a poisen, right?

Maybe contaminated soil or water or something killed him. Not sure, haven't even looked it up.

Its a metal that when has killed a living organism preserves its body.

We know arsenic killed napoleon as scientists found traces of it in his hair recently.

There are 2 theories as to how it got there

1- The paint in his room (arsenic was used in paint)

2- He was poisoned by the count of monthelon

Here is another reason we know napoleon died of arsenic.
When his corpses was dug up from St helena to be moved back to beloved france a while later they found it perfectly preserved, it is probably still intact today.

Of course the "sad thing" is only death with arsenic preserves your body, and that has to be you dying over a long time (like napoleon). (prolonged exposure)

So no cocky hollywood actor will be able to preserve their corpse forever if they merely eat arsenic.

To corporal hicks

The croissant originated in Austria.

Of course i admit that i did not know and had to look it up.

damnit i have to go study. I'm off.
