Hello Fellow Demo-Awaiters

I've been playing the awesome multiplayer mod Napoleonic Total War 2 for Rome Total war for about 2 years now.

This mod has limitations (for example, even in a block 10 deep everyone can fire)

Therefore the NTW2 made up rules, also consisting the rule no general sniping.

What does this mean? You dont fire at the enemy general with your bloody cannons! :thumbsdow Like Wellington says in Waterloo 1970: Gentleman have something better to do then shoot at each other.

As you all know a killed general has huge effect on moral. I was wondering if it will be possible in Empire Total war and if you think it will f%ck up ranked and fun games because 'not so good' players will just shoot at the general and then make their move.

Any info on it?

the general is no more the elite unit, but he is CRUCIAL towards moral.. with him alive, the men will have major moral..however if he dies, that would be a major problem

Ofcourse, i dont think any one will use his general in this game to attack someone. But it can still be blasted to pieces by players who want to screw you over, or not?

If my opponent has the luxury of targeting my general with his cannon (and is within range of him), I'm doing something wrong.

While he shoots at my troops, I'll be decimating him with counter battery fire.

You ask if General sniping will be possible in Empire.. In the german "Gamestar" video it shows a General being killed in action. In one version which is subtitled in english, I noticed that the previewer even brags about the killing of the enemy commander. This General had gotten himself into close combat though...

I think that'sthe thing you'll have to decide for yourself.

I think the Moral boost from the general is biggest when he's close to the troops, so you'd have to make a decision: keep him close to give your troops the maximum morale boost, but risk losing your general and all your morale. Or you keep him back and get a smaller bonus, but little risk of your general dying on you.

My general usually ends up dead in a pitched battle anyways, so it's not really a concern for me.

But I like the option of an artillery barrage at the general. Should open up new possibilities.

I cant remember who it was, but a british officer decided to not shoot George Washington, because it was unprofessional, or un gentlemently like at the time, or at least considered so.
