Re: General Discussion

Guys do u have any clue on how much % of this mod is done?

Really looking forward to this

Re: General Discussion

So to revive this a little, how is everyone and how goes the mod? Also how many mods are you currently working on right now anyways Joar?

julianus heraclius, being the leader of RO, better answer these types of questions. Work on RO is, however, progressing.

Now, if the latter part of the question is for me personally, I'd say I'm actively involved in about 4 - 5 mods, or thereabout.

Re: General Discussion

Well, we are close to finishing the cas and texture files for the barbarian factions, leaving the romans to finalise and a few other factions that we have already done to tweak. The next step is to get a new map and import all of the new units onto the campaign map. From there it will then be a matter of including the new traits and ancillaries and finalise recruitment of units etc. All of this takes time of course but I would hope for a BETA from mid to late 2014. At the moment I'm finalising my Doctoral thesis and updating SAI for the SAI-Alex version which will include new units plus more.

Re: General Discussion

Praise The Lord, SAI ALX version!

Will there also be an OLB version or do people have to play by having the same campaign files loaded up?

Ah, I didn't know Julianus was the head cheese. I liked SAI :D

Also 4-5 mods is a lot, I can barely help out with one mod, I envy your skills.

Re: General Discussion

Hello
I would like to ask:
What are the gods of the Roman temples to the Roman factions?
The temple of Jupiter will he available, I miss in SAI: (?
Will we play Maxentius and Licinius opponents of Constantine?
thank you

Re: General Discussion

Nobilissimus, even if I understand your feelings, I feel the duty to point out that the Greek is absolutely more difficult! :bigboss:

This is only French, the old and beautiful Romance Language spoken by one of the most famous English Kings: William the Conqueror and his noble Knights.

Re: General Discussion

He argues about that the cult of Jupiter was more popular in certain parts of the empire, like in the west. He is hoping for a pantheon of Jupiter in roman building tree anf such.

Re: General Discussion

Etymology is the answer ! So many words in English are from the French language. When I went in Italy, I could decifer what they were saying with my knowledge of spanish and of my basis in latin.

Re: General Discussion

I don't even speak French and I can read enough of it to get what he's saying.
In that case you can understand this: "Involontairement, je crois, parfois tu te conduis comme un pédant, mais je suis completement convaincu que tu n'es pas prétentieux." Just be aware that you may hurt people's feelings if you fail to formulate your thoughts better. My only intention is to give you a well-intentioned piece of advise, although you never asked me for one . But if somehow I offended you, please accept my sincere apologies.

"Involontariamente, io credo, a volte tu ti comporti come un pedante, ma io sono completamente convinto che tu non sia un presuntuoso."

... In Italian it's almost identical, isn't it Pseudo? How much I love the spoken Latin!

Re: General Discussion

Sorry if this is well known to everyone except me but what is the subject?
My thesis is on the effects of training psychologists/psychotherapists in two buddhist meditation practices, mindfulness of breathing and loving-kindness and they influence their relationship with their clients.

The main aim is to examine the differences, if any between the two meditation practices. Mindfulness has become very popular within psychology circles but loving-kindness has been much less investigated. Without going into too much detail, mindfulness and loving-kindness equate to the two wings of a bird (buddhist view), where mindfulness can lead to wisdom and loving-kindness can lead to compassion, but both are required as each infuses the other. In western psychology the emphasis has been much more on using mindfulness as a form of de-stress and relaxation tool without the benefits of loving-kindness.

Mindfulness, from a buddhist perspective is designed to increase our awareness of thoughts, feelings and sensations, whereas loving-kindness is designed to increase connection between ourselves and others. As these are important aspects in the art of therapy work it made sense to train some practioners and see if they did have any effect upon them and their relationships.

William is forever the bastard and will never be a true Englishman!
