IMO there isn't nearly enough. Mods in NWN by a year after release were far more numerous.

I've been disappointed by mods as a whole in this game.
There's a ton of items and reskins, but only a few new maps, etc. If anything I think it's a testament to how damn good vanilla DA is - that it doesn't particularly need many life-changing mods.

Really? The Phoenix Armory and the Elvhenan Weapons in particular stand out as top notch.

Would be happy to read some info why do you dudes like DA so much.
Is it as good as for example Baldurs Gate?

I've never played Baldur's Gate, but from what I hear, DA:O is not as good. Now, the reasons I like it are:
1)The presentation of the storyline. The storyline itself is unimaginative, the common good vs evil storyline of any fantasy game. However, it is presented in a way that actually sucks you in it, and makes you care. Typical Bioware in that department.
2)The companions. Easily some of the best companions in RPG games out there, and I've played enough to know. Humorous, witty, with excellent voice acting. Whether we talk about the the faith speeches of Leliana (with the bonus French accent), the sharp and witty remarks of Morrigan, the naivety of Alistair or the drunken advices of Oghren, all fellows in DA:O are likable, and you actually care about them, their lifes, etc.
3)Some unique and original bits in the setting, like the Elves being treated as second class creatures, the castes of the Dwarves etc.
4)Many side quests, they seem to never end, thus increasing replayability.
5)The Origins storylines. Most are very good.

Yes. Didn't realize until after.
There is some point when previously looking at Youtube vids where Tug sounds like Shepard. Or Meer in this case...

He does many other voices too.
And rather well.

Retroplayer- Mark, you’ve also worked alongside Bioware on Dragon Age: Origins in which you play a number of villains. What was it like playing characters that are pretty much the complete opposite of Commander Shepard?

Mark Meer (Commander Shepard)- Well, keep in mind there are probably some EXTREMELY ruthless versions of Shepard out there… I do enjoy playing villains, though -- especially monsters. I gotto be several Werewolves in Dragon Age: Origins and all of the talking Darkspawn in Dragon Age: Awakenings, which was fun. And in ME2, I’m any Vorcha you meet -- the day we recorded that, I spent the whole day screeching and gibbering in the booth. Also fun. Now that I think of it,before Shepard, I almost exclusively played villains or creatures, with the occasional non-hostile NPC thrown into the mix.

Not just modding and multiplayer. Also the toolset, armor/clothing customization, more varied weaponry, at least a hundred more spells, way more classes, allowing you to create your own character instead of the restrictive origins, mounted combat, cloaks, about twenty times more creatures, more playable races, more voice sets to choose from, infinite replayability whereas dragon age collects dust when its finished a few times while NWN can never truly be finished.

Well, talent tree better? Story? Twists?'

Cmon man you can give a better answer.

Yeah, all of that. I just said everything except those two things. Not twists I guess, I don't remember any important twists in either of those games, twists aren't necessary unless it's an M. Night Shamalamalamalon movie.

Better story, better writing, better presentation, better voice acting,

Toolset=modding. Armor customization is the same thing, unless you're talking about those bottles of dye or whatever.

The spells were alright, all D&D 3e spells so it's not like they made them up, but D&D 3e isn't all that balanced. Besides, the casting interface was terrible.

The origins were awesome.

Uh, mounted combat?

Cloaks? I guess, some people make a big deal about stuff like that, don't see how it makes it a better game.

Voice sets are useless anyway, your character only says a few phrases, mostly during combat, and which ever one you pick it gets old very quickly.

Replayability=multiplayer, unless you somehow feel the need to replay the (far inferior to Dragon Age) single player campaign over and over.

How can you possibly think that the talent tree is better :P

Now i know you are lying.
PFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!
The talent tree is fine. I just earned my "dwarf that slept with Morrigan badge" on the talent tree!

The dog in the game, imaginatively named 'Dog', started barking in the camp. So my dog started barking back.

I did not know he did all the vorcha. Cool.

Sketch (looking at a second-story window): Tight fit for a dwarf....

Tug: Heh, that's what your mother said.

Regarding voicesets: "can I get you a ladder, so you can get off my back?" Neverwinter Nights never had that rubbish repetitive stuff and allowed for a lot more responses.

Mounted combat and horses where added freely through a patch. Same goes for cloaks. Just another detail.

Armor and clothing customization is actually part of the game. Because of the possibilities the variations in the campaign are quite big compared to those in Dragon Age, which contains less than 10 armors which are recolored a few times.

Personally... I absolutely love the game, although a few things could be worked on for the second one.

I don't remember riding a single horse anywhere in Neverwinter Nights or its expansions.

One suit of Dragon Age armor probably has more polygons than every suit of NWN armor combined. And they still used the same kind of recoloring with different materials, along with some cutting/pasting parts from other armors to make a new set.

Either way, what armor and clothing customization are you talking about? Where in the game, specifically, is the customization?

The Wyvern Crown of Cormyr features horses, it is a premium module. All its content was added through a free patch later, and now there are plenty of modules online and singleplayer modules to download that feature horses. You can easily add them to the campaign yourself by using the toolset, or simply by playing a Palladin since they can summon a warhorse as they advance through levels. There is even a riding skill in place to determine how well a character can ride a horse.

I dont care that much about the number of polygons, when NWN was released the graphics where quite advanced for that time. It could be compared to Dragon Age on its time of release. And there are many new games out there with a wide variety of armor models so the increased number of polygons is not an excuse.

There is a crafting system put in by Bioware through a patch in which crafting costs a lot of money but it allows you to modify the appearance of the armor by use of the crafting skills for armor and weapons to determine if you will be succesfull or not. And any worthwhile server online uses an improved version of that, many having a free customization model to use so you can always look however you want your armor, weapons and clothes to look, suiting for your characters.

NWN was unplayable for me, it seemed to be extremely bad. Hope DA is much better.

Just hid a bug in my Dalish Rogue game. I went to the Circle Tower and got all chatty with Greagoir. When I asked him for more time before I went into the Tower, it was all well and good, until I wanted to go in and do it. I can't get in, the door remains locked no matter what I try, and I don't have a savegame from earlier.

I did, a few times. I might try another quest first and see if it gets unlocked afterwards.
