Beta testing 0.99

Unable to get past the boot flashscreen. Ran LAA and every other suggested option. Any idea what this might be? Just permenantly stays on the initial loading and if clicked just stops responding.

It shouldn't be merged with any other folder.
You can always run “Map and Bin file cleaner.bat,” which will rebuild the map files and .bin files, but I really think the problem is due to a faulty installation.

Double checked and thats the exact route it’s currently following. I’ve run both these cleaners and still can’t get it to boot past the flash screen. Apart from doing a full reinstall i’m lost on what else could be preventing it from launching as can’t see anybody else struggling with this issue.

Your issue is probably unique. I don't see why it wouldn't work. Are you using M2TWEOP_GUI.exe to launch SSHIP 099? That should open a window where you click “Run SSHIP.” Maybe you have a program running in the background that's interfering with the mod? Does version 098 work properly?
 
@Emperor Arif : 🏹🔥In fact, flaming arrows have no historical basis. They’re even absurd on a battlefield. Movies use them almost without exception to look impressive, but it’s not realistic. While fire-spreading arrows were likely used in specific cases, they couldn’t have looked like those streaks of fire streaking across the sky, simply because at an arrow’s speed, the flame is blown out!

And honestly, don’t you find it ridiculous to see fighters burning and screaming as they’re struck by an arrow?

For all these reasons, we’ve decided to remove this feature (which doesn’t apply to siege weapons).

Use @umbracatervae’s submod if you want to see them in your game again. Plus, you’ll get some magnificent Georgian units ;)

I got the same issue as you did. I had a fresh install of Med2 as well. I got the CTD error with no message a few moments after starting the game from the M2TWEOP_GUI.exe.

I had already run LAA on Med2.exe and run the cleaner, but it kept giving me the same error.

I even tried running LAA on M2TWEOP_GUI.exe, which hopefully had no lingering effect because it didn't solve the issue.

After fiddling with this, I noticed that a new folder had appeared in my "mods" folder. It was labelled "sship". The folder containing M2TWEOP_GUI.exe was named "sship.2".

I checked the "sship" folder contained a couple empty folders and an eop.log file.

I deleted this folder and renamed my "sship.2" folder to "sship" and now I am able to run the game (I went as far as ending my first turn without any errors, so far).

Just wanted to take a second to say thank you to the mod team. I've played SSHIP for a long time, but during 2022 life got crazy and I had to step away from gaming for a while. I am just restarting at this time and I am very thankful to the team for continuing their work on this excellent mod!

is it possiblw for sship to switch over to mtw2ex instead of eop. they could do so many things like more factions🙏
 
So what is the deal with the Archers and Heavy Mail event? I am playing as Poland and as soon as I hit Heavy Mail, Archers disappeared from the recruitment pool. Same thing happened in 0.98. Is It intentional or is that a bug that you somehow missed and forgot to fix?

Also, I don't have the possibility to choose an heir. Was that removed or did I miss something (or mess something up)?

Repeated crashing if trying to load a save from the game menu. Now repeated crashing during AI turn/upon trying to load dsave. ran the map and bin cleaner and it clearer the issue with crashing upon loading but now crashes during AI turn.

edit: I also get a critical graphics error near every time i return from battle interface to campaign interface.

Edit2: It's currently taking me about 2-3 crashes in general to get through a turn without combat :)

Edit3: added additional attachment for save file that crashes on attempting to load the save from main menu

So another two things, Order of Dobrzyn event, there is not stack of the teutonic soldiers near Plock, which appeared in 0.98. Kind of sad.

Also, money from looting the enemy camp after the battle... I am getting ridiculous amounts of cash, literally when I see that Holy Roman Empire makes a move against me I know I will be eating good. We are talking about 40-60 thousands. I don't remember now how much we were getting in 0.98, but the most money I made was after capturing enemy generals, heirs and especially kings, which was skyrocketing ransoms to 12-15 thousands.
Now I just load the garisson in Prague and wait for them to come (HRE or Denmark, whatever). Feels like a cheat to me. I am playing at highest difficulty settings. I LOVE :luv: however the fact that the settlements can be besieged by multiple armies now, also that enemies tend to attack more than 1 side of the settlement, though usually they tend to send just a battering ram on another side, this could use some work, I mean maybe divide It and add some ladders and a siege tower?

Still, I love that mod, It brought me back to Medieval 2, my favourite Total War game, easily makes It a Medieval 2.5 :yes::thumbsup2

Hello Fellow Monkeys,
first of all giant thank you to the dev team behind sship mod this is truly amazing this is my favorite total war mod:). I love ❤️❤️❤️the events added in the beta. I have a few things that i noticed during a playthrough with poland.

- Even tho its shown on the crowning map by the sword i couldnt get the crown in krakow, i had the special buildings and other requiements fulfilled . I had to get to poznan to get crowned, there it worked.

- the events dicription is misleading the rows should always start with for example: - turn 115 + Order of Dobrin .... , also first event just write - turn 0 before so monkeys can get when the event triggers its easier to read

- i had a lot of crashes when a muslim general from egypt died in europe during battle i had to restart until he doesnt gets attacked anymore during ai turn. maybe its an event general ???

- i also didnt get any units during order of dobrin event in plock maybe its because i changed the settlement into a town ?

As far as I remember in 0.98 that stack of Teutonic crusaders appeared near Plock, not in the castle itself. I didn't get them as well.

Yes, they did appear below Płock in 0.98. The event is present in 0.99beta, but it doesn't spawn any units as it used to.
