There is a natural landbridge (RTW style, without the green arrows) linking Denmark with the Scandinavian Peninsula.

Factions or anything else haven't been added yet, it's easier for me and KK to exchange work just with the core map at the moment. But I can't see why the AI would use ships any differently. Une thing I have done is made all lakes 'deep ocean', no visible difference, but it means you won't get landlocked pirates.

I see there is a big change between Arhus and Lund and you have moved the port of Arhus to the eastern side.

Do you know it river trade/ports are going to be on the map.

The waiting is starting to become unbearable:tongue:
When 6.0 comes out, Filefront will probably think they are beeing ddos'ed:laughter:

The landlocked pirates is annoying. Keep, up the good work!!

Beautiful

I am so excited for 6.0, you have no idea!

Hi Tommyknocker,

As always: :thumbsup2

Not all ports are updated in this preview. I.e the Arhus port will have another location.

Hi delra,
Is Hamburg port finally to the west?
I think, yes.

I haven't played Rome in a few years (probably gonna reinstall it soon) so I don't quiet remember how landbridges were done. Could you still block passage with a navy?

Please PLEASE add København. Almost no mods have it. If Sweden gets little tiny places like Skara, Denmark should have Copenhagen.

Denmark looks really barren anyway, and it's needs to be there for historic significance. From Wikipedia:

From the Viking Age there was a fishing village by the name of "Havn" (harbour) at the site. From the middle of the 12th century it grew in importance after coming into the possession of the Bishop Absalon, who fortified it in 1167, the year traditionally marking the foundation of Copenhagen. The excellent harbour encouraged Copenhagen's growth until it became an important centre of commerce (hence its name - the first part of the word denoting commerce in Danish language). It was repeatedly attacked by the Hanseatic League as the Germans took notice. In 1254, it received its charter as a city under Bishop Jakob Erlandsen.

It would be one of the richest and most important cities in Scandinavia by the 1400s. It needs to be in the mod--it makes no sense not to add it.

Did I mention please?

Actually I'm not sure if it was in vanilla, but many mods used this technique. Basically only a (relatively) small number of evenly spaced pixels are counted as movement tiles. So as long as you have two of these pixels close to each other as land, you can have water in between them and move over it.

In other words, an engine limitation we can exploit :whistling

This is the first mod I've seen actually add on to Scandinavia. Great job.

Look fantastic!

But I agree with post #15, Copenhagen or Roskilde would be great on Sjælland/Zeeland. There's too much space between Arhus and Lund.

Looking forward to this!! :thumbsup2

Let's see all of it before we start asking for additions and removals.

TK: I don't know how much of the map is already done but, if it's possible, how about a preview of new territories next, like Cuman or Khwarizmian?

With this there would have to be another settlement removed, as all the slots have been taken up.

It is sad that Copenhagen is not on the map.
In europe Copenhagen is a important city far more than Bergen, Skara, Eikaarlund, Goteborg or even Visby.

Also a idea i had was that the Holy lands under the Kingdom of Jerusalem should have more Forts and watchtowers when the game starts.

Great map!

Since starting play SS, its the only mod I play now great jobs guys cant wait of 6.0 to come out. Look at this map, you think about putting a city or castle for an island thats in between denmark & sweden? just a thought;)

grr, yeah like Copenhagen. Just read the other posts, you beat me to it:tongue:

Out of interest, if we were to replace another Scandinavian province with Copenhagen, what would you want it to be?

Keep in mind though, ultimately this is KKs call, and he does a lot to try and balance the realism/historical importance with gameplay. For example, removing one could leave a big empty space somewhere...

Lund is a natural choice cause it's almost the same place.

The problem with Lund is its huge importance in Danish history.. Kicking either will be difficult. So maybe let's leave as-is. Why fix something which is not broken...
