Ok, so I need to post a screen shot, but my file size is way too big (Like 500 kb while 100 kb is the max, I think) So can anyone tell me how to reduce it, or how I can get the pic on here?

Sorry if something like this has been posted already

imageshack is the answer, i actually find it faster and simpler than using the boards file attachment feature.

but if its a jpeg, you can use mspaint to resize it.

just open it up in paint, press ctrl+w and reduce both horizontally and vertically by the same percentage, then just save it how ever you like.

It's probably a tga (m2tw) or a png (xfire)

Convert it to a jpeg and you'll cut the size by a hell of a lot.

Thanks again, Pat...

But Sapi, I've converted it to jpeg, but I only know how to put it as an attachment.... how do you put the actual pic in the thread? I think converting it to jpeg worked, I just need to put it here instead of in an attachment.... Obviously, I'm slightly stupid

Ah - sorry for the confusion :)

Go to www.imageshack.us, click 'browse' and navigate to where the picture is stored.

Click 'upload' and wait for a minute while it's sent to their servers.

You'll then get a new page with a selection of links. iirc, you want the first one, which uses
tags.

Copy that link into your post to display the picture

well if you attach it, there'll be a thumbnail at the bottom of the post.

but if you want to get the directory of the image, just open it up, right click it, select properties, then copy the text it has as its location. i think even the location you copy doesn't end in a ".jpg" extension, it'll still work with the boards picture posting feature.

Ooooooh! I see now! Thanks to both of you! Sapi, I'm +repping you since I did it your way, but Pat, you were a lot of help as well. Thanks again :D
