Im a big FPS games fan but my experience is only limited to single player games. It is not that I do not like multiplayer mode but my PC seems to have problem with Punk Buster, the anti-cheat program used by major Online FPS games like Battlefield Series and America's Army.

So anyone can please tell me any Multiplayer oriented FPS games which do not use Punk Buster program?

anything valve, but valve sucks, don't support them, I refuse to get anything they put out anymore. Such a shame it is, too.

That's the shame, HL1 is one of my favorite games, probably my favorite fps, but the way they've been acting lately has pissed me off incredibly, what with having broken steam further a few months ago, and since then, instead of fixing it, they go and absolutely destroy CSS, by implementing a stupid new system they knew everyone would hate. I haven't played CSS since they implemented that thing. Plus, Steam kept me from playing the original CS, because some ******* stole my HL cdkey before I made my account. Then they go gobbling up mods, screwing them up as they did to CS, and selling them off, and now they're selling Garry's mod? My god, where will they stop. It's obvious any remotely good mod made for a game under their controll, they'll take and start selling. They're evil, evil I tells you!

Is Half Life 2 multiplayer oriented? I thought it focuses on single player. By the way right now Im considering SWAT 4. Is that game good?

I'm not disagreeing with you but it was Garry himself who chose to start selling his game through steam and not valve at all.

As for Counter Strike Source, it's a great game! Don't give up on it just yet. They've taken that stupid dynamic pricing system off by the way. I do believe the deagle got to $23,000 hahaha.

I'm sure Valve had to have something to do with it, I'm sure you can't just put something up on steam yourself and charge for it.

There's also an excellent FPS mod for HL2 called Battlegrounds. It's a Revolutionary War FPS, and I know it sounds crazy, but it is fun as all hell. I highly recommend it.

(It's still in beta though, so there are problems...but nothing like CTDs or anything serious).

Steam are independent of valve.

Valve takes a chunk of the profits from the sale of Garry's Mod.

A person cannot sell a modification of a game engine without buying the license for that engine (somewhere in the $300-600k range) due to IP rights. Garry's Mod was an exception to the rule, but only because Valve made a deal in terms of commercialization.
