Better Maps 0.4 + Extended Japan mod (the littlest one with 25 provinces about more) + Darthmod and any crashes so far (more than 80 turns) :)

Anyone has a lag problem? especially when the units move. the game freeze every 2-3 seconds and every 1 second during movement

Warscape engine bug with custom maps. I can't fix it.

fps is normal like usual, but i notice very high cpu usage around 100 %, especialy if the your or ai bring reinforcement into siege battle, that its prepare for the massive lag.
Maybe my core 2 duo cant handle it, hope my new i5 can handle it well.

Whahahahahahaha I'm still alive. Sorry for the looooong time without updates, but in the last 2 months I had a lot of problems with pcs (I'm starting to think they hate me), and i was veeeery lazy :tongue:.

About the mod, in may, my pc broke with the new version of the mod almost finished, and I finally have all files in her place, so I can finish it. That means the new version will be online this week... maybe. I need to check all the maps to search bugs. And about the new version:
- No new maps.
- Every already modded map has been revised to fix almost all pathfinding issues (I can't fix every issue, but now the units move faaaar better than before).
- Every already modded map (except both kyoto maps) has been revised and improved. Some of them only have some more details, and others has been fully remaked.

Kyoto maps will be remade in a future. When? I don't know. Maybe tomorrow, maybe in 2036... when I think what to do with them.

And there is no new screenshots. They will be when I release the new version.

- The square mountain castle of level 1 now has walls of logs, like the level 2 castles from ROTS. This castle (and the level 2) has taken a lot of time, and that the way I feel they look better.
- Sometimes, cavalry... is just stupid. I can't fix that.
- I need to make more screenshots from the old castles with better quality.

I don't know. Do you have a save just before a battle with reinforcements to send me for check it? I lost all my saves with the change of PC.

EDIT: I started a new campaign with oda and I tried to make a battle with reinforcements. No lag problems, but i never had a lag problem with reinforcements.

A new update. Nothing new. It's just that I forget to change some lines in a map... and this cause the AI to deploy the units like an idiot when is atacking one of the mountain maps... The new update is online in steam and in twcenter. Sorry for the problems.

And something for the future: the next update will have near 8 or 10 packs. Why? because steam workshop has a limit of 100 mb, and when I upload a new part I doesn't have a way to communicate the upload of the new part to those who downloaded the mod before I upload the new part. So I will upload all parts in the next update, but some of them will have near to 0kb. I will use them for upload the maps without have to worry about. So, when I release a new update, all will have the new maps + I can upload hotfixes quick with this method. Today the update has taken near 6 hours to be uploaded.

hello sir, i've just playing a siege battle in Miyagi province with "expanded" map mod. i'm using "Better Maps" with "City Castle" mod both enabled or any one enabled.


i don't know, but i think "City Castle" mod (movie type) override this mod or i pick a wrong siege battle so i couldn't see the effect of those mods. i hope they could be compatible each other. thanks for your help sir :)

Just change city castles pack to mod type and, with both mods actives in mod manager, try to play in "lonelly castle" map in skirmish (or in one of the first post). If the map is one of the screenshots, you have made both mods compatible. If not, rename city castles pack file to "aCity_castles.pack" and try again.

Hey Frodo, I was hoping your mod would of added small buildings to those empty Castle sieges in STW2, but as I play with your mod, those Level 1 and 2 Castles are empty and I know it's so that armies can position themselves better, but I really wish we could have some buildings inside them for realism look of the castle. Or at least add a darn village outside of the castle. Oh well, better just forget about it since the modding community is tiny here compared to Rome 2.

I think I know why I didn't notice any difference. I installed this during my playthrough owith Shimazu. This time I started a new game with Ikko and I notice a few new maps. Very interesting field maps, thank you!

Hi frodo, i dont ask much but please make the pathfinding for ai in this two places more accesible, the 2 map name in custom battle is plain fort and plain fortress. how about big straight road as entrance so the ai can force its way through the big road,at least its reduce the cpu usage problem, its seem the more compleks the path finding the more likely i get stutering due cpu lag.I dont know how can my spec cant handle it i5 4670 k 4.3 ghz (4,7 ghz but hot never want it) + hd radeon xfx 7970 3 gb + 8 gb ram. Back there i use core 2 duo, so i think its the cpu problem now i know its not,it seem even the fps is 45 but the stutering is still produced especialy when ai as attacker in siege ( i think for somehow the pathfinding progess make the stutering).I forced to delete part of this beautiful map since its only more playable if we play vs human only. Hope you able to fix it

The ai climb the wall but suddenly its stopped just sitting and waiting there, perhaps remove the wall and replace it with big straight road maybe can cure it.

First, I think you mean Plain Fortress and Shinjo, because Fort Castle doesn't have that wall.
Second, the problem is not the wall, or the AI lag (I've a worse CPU and those maps run properly in my pc). The problem is a vanilla bug that only happends to some people, related with how the game use "modded" maps. Since is a bug of the engine (I don't remember where I see it, but happends too in napoleon and empire) I can't fix it. Sorry for that.

PD: Did happends only in campaign or in skirmish? If is in campaign, can you send me a save from before the battle?
PD2: I think someone report that reinstalling the game fixed the bug for him, but that seems to happend only for some people, because another try it and it didn't work. You can try it, if you want.

It can happen in campaign, and last time i post the picture using custom battle, never mind about the bug, rest of your map is epic as usual

As I said, it's not your CPU. I have an I5-4570 at 3.2 GHz and I can play 20 vs 20 battles in that map without sttutering. It's due to a vanilla engine bug, and I can't fix it.
