You talkin' to me?
Im debating which game to buy, what's your input guys?
I wouldn't say it's particularly necessary for the gameplay since the two games are very different in that regard. However, I think it'd be pretty hard to get acquainted with the world if you dive straight into W2 since things aren't explained as much in detail as they were in W1, like the sociopolitical climate (which plays a huge role). No I havent played Witcher 1, this would be my first introduction into the series.
lol just throw your console out of da winda and go pc
Witcher 2. An absolute classic.
Witcher 2. An absolute classic.
Don't play Witcher 1. The plot was great, the environment felt awesome, but the game was just timed clicking for combat (literally, you just keep mashing the attack button as Geralt performs only one attack) and a ridiculous chase for the sex card things. It wasn't too bad at the time, but compared to The Witcher 2, it was terrible.
Funny how it's a classic but only recently came out![]()
The Witcher 2 suffered from this as well, though they expanded on it with the Enhanced Edition update. Honestly though, I've yet to find a game that has such a...for lack of better term, austere, atmosphere.Witcher 1 had a craptastic last act of the plot though.
Cheesiness all'round

What do you look for most out of an RPG? Expansiveness, freedom, open world sandbox gameplay? Or a rich story with fantastic characters and voice acting as well as meaningful choices?
W2's ending felt a bit rushed and short, but W1's last act was just silly withThe Witcher 2 suffered from this as well, though they expanded on it with the Enhanced Edition update. Honestly though, I've yet to find a game that has such a...for lack of better term, austere, atmosphere.
