I hereby declare myself as a weekly contestant. Some new blood is always welcome, I believe. I've been thinking about writing for the longest time, so you can consider it a privilege that I'll post my first scraps of fiction on this website.

Welcome to TotW, Godfrey I of Leuven! You are right, new blood is always welcome here. Good luck!
Good luck man.The WS sure needs some more good talent .

Welcome to the WS and TotW, Godfrey I. There is always room for more good writing.
Sorry I didn't spot this sooner, Caligula:
I'm a bit late for this contest, I know, but for future reference, the answer is no; censor bypassing is not allowed. The ToS apply here just as much as they do across the rest of the site.
I won't be able to upload anything by this evening due to work and exams next week, but I suppose the date will be extended considering the overwhelming entries.
Thanks.

I will try an vote a few times. I will not be stuffing any ballots but it might relieve the worries of too few votes if one more vote matters.
And congrats to the winner. I could not bring myself to write on the topic. I had just watched Kubrick's Paths to Glory.

I don't vote because I think I'm a bit biased.
'ello. Still largely lurking at the moment.

Well feel free to get an entry in whenever you want.
I'm tempted I have to say, if not a little rusty. Loving the recent themes!

[Caillagh coughs politely to draw Shankbot's attention, then whispers discreetly] He's already entered...
Glad you're enjoying the themes. (I can't take any of the credit, but I'm sure the appropriate people will see your post.) It's always good to have more entries, so we'd be very happy to have a submission from you.I'm tempted I have to say, if not a little rusty. Loving the recent themes!

Thank you to all four people who entered Tale of the Week 267.
Writers' Study staff are sorry that we posted the voting thread at the same time that the fourth submission was being posted. As you can see, we have archived the voting thread which only included the first three submissions. Caillagh will create a new Tale of the Week voting thread with all four submissions and it will be available soon.
Don't be sorry. I'd rather apologize for being late!

It has come to the attention of WS Staff that one of the entries in the current TotW (268: Heavy Cruiser) only fits within the word-limit because of the fact that the Official TotW Word Counter considers any string of text without a space in it to be a single word.
WS Staff would like to make it clear to all TotW participants thata) is not correct English, and b) contains ten words. Typing as in the quote above, thus reducing your word-count, is cheating, and anyone doing this will be disqualified from the contest. That includes current entries. Please make any necessary amendments before the submission deadline, or else your submission will not qualify for the TotW.Run Spot run.See Spot run.Spot chases the ball.
Please also note that we have added a midday (GMT) deadline to the submissions thread. That's just to make it easier for all of us (both entrants and staff) to be sure exactly when the submissions period is over.
