How about adding another playable indian faction? Such as the Sikhs? Historically it was the Rajputs and Sikhs who destroyed the Mughal Empire by forcing them to fight on two fronts in Northern India (the Maharattas opened another front in the south). The sikhs could have specialist units such as the Akali Nihangs and formidiable cavalry. I think adding another Indian faction would make it more balanced.
I would glady help the developers and provide them with my knowledge in regards to the sikhs and their units and also indian history. Please consider adding the Sikhs as a faction.

Also, whens this mod set for release?

Please ignore post, i just realised that the mod ends at 1400AD and about that time the sikhs were just starting up! Please ignore the post and sorry once again

I already asked and it seems the Sikhs are technically not in the time frame. Maybe a Punjabi faction. Keep this in the minor faction thread, please.

Coincidentally we discussed adding another Indian faction today. It's a definite possability.

If you want this to become a reality I have a very simple request - Produce a list of units that would make up the factions roster for us. Include the following:

5 infantry units
3 archers units
3 cavalry units

Add one picture reference for each unit and a short description of the units background and how it would be used in a battle.

With this information we can begin to discuss the possability of including the faction.

Cheers

Another Indian faction? Maybe.

Sikhs? NO. They did not even exist until after 1500. This mod goes from 1170-1400.

EDIT: Sorry bichwaa, didn't read your second post.. yep - 1400AD. so the sikhs arent a possibility.

Urm, the only other state that i can think of would be the Maharrattas, but i dont think your map extends south enough to have them incorporated.

You could use the punjabis as mercs (i think you already suggested this). Possibly arm them with tulwars? but no armour as they were mostly farmers, but they were physically very strong so it must show in the body detail. Maybe something along the lines of the image i posted?

I have a indian fort called "Kalinjar" in the eastern edge of the map. What faction existing in those parts? Some sort of Rajput princely state I believe?

Yes indeed, the Kalinjar fort was garrisoned with Rajput troops and belonged to the Chandela clan of the Rajput Dynasty.

The actual name Kalinjar means...Kal (time) and jar (destruction) so literal translation is destruction of time.
