Reforms

is there a way to change the years the reforms take place. i tried changing the years on which they occur on the campagn events thing but that didnt work, is there any way to speed up the process?

im not a very patient person, i want the new legionares asap. i find the pre-marius troops boring and "not cool" looking.

when i was betatester about 210 b.C. i had all Europe except one or two provinces

thats wat im saying, i would have already conquered the world before the reforms happen.

Thats becouse There is still not the new map , the new map has a hoard of provinces and To conquer Gallia I took about 25 years ....

Plus further balancement will improve the Barbarians versus the Romans , making them much more dangerous , but I will take care of this when I will release the next pack ...

i dont suppose theres a separate download to get the new map. ive read in a another forum some guy has the new map.

so there is no text in the data folder that i can change so that the reform dates can happen sooner.

The reforms are essentially the scripted placement of unbuildable buildings. My suggestion to move things up would be to go to the export_descr_building file, and copy all the recruit lines from reform2 into reform1 (with which you begin the game).

ok that worked, i could get the legionaires and stuff, but how do i get the field of mars to change the recruitment from 1st reform to 4th

How about smaller map and 1 turn per year instead?
Since you have less provinces every battle becomes more significant...

That's controlled out of the RGBS.txt file in data/scripts/show_me/ but that's a bit more complicated.

it wasnt complicated, it worked, it still says the 1st reform troops but u actually get the legionares. thanx, now im off to conquer the small map with the "cool" units.

i think date reform is very good.all mods have other ways to reform and i make marian reform very soon with boring results.now you have historical accuracy and is better(historical rome fight with hastati principes triarii for 150 years you dont?).

I can see where this guy is going. Personally im comfortable with the Polybian units till 107BC but when I play other mods with reforms I don't like waiting for reforms because I have played Rome for so long that I spent more time with Poly units then Marian/Imperial.

lol I think if Rome had Marian and/or Imperial legions she probablly use them instead of the Polybian units sense they were much better soldiers and easier to gather :laughter:
