Ok, So I tried to uninstalled R:TW, But near the end it froze and I tried to cancel it, But, it was removed from the Add/Remove list and so I searched for ANYTHING R:TW related and deleted it. Yet my computer still thinks it exists:crying:. Now, My brother fixed this before, but he's away right now. So dont say "Reformat your computer."
If you know how to help, Thanks very much.

Re: Help please.

download rome total war uninstaller off the net, just google it, good luck!

Re: Help please.

It is always a good idea to have a third party uninstaller and registry checker. Good ones eliminate the problem you ran into, google them and you will find many free/free trials.

The problem you describe usualy is in the registry. I discourage those not well versed to steer clear of changing the registry manualy. Most time novices refuse to make a back up copy, do stupid things, miss items and wind up with a door-stop. A registry checker is much better.

Re: Help please.

Do u happen to have another hard drive ? Because u could try installing RTW on the other hardrive and that would work. Then when ur brother gets back he can help you get rid of it off the current hardrive. Hope this is valid and helps.

Re: Help please.

I've had this problem before. Go to your start menu and click 'run'. Then type in REGEDIT. A screen with a bunch of stuff should pop up, but on the left hand menu go to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER' and then 'software'. Look for an entry called 'Creative Assembly' and delete it. Then go back to where you started in the registry and go to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE'. Then 'software', and then delete 'Creative Assembly just like before. Now get out of the registry and do a search in C/:WINDOWS for RomeTW.ini. It should pop up really fast. Delete it and you should be good to go. P.S. Be sure you also deleted any files left in the install folder as well. :thumbsup2

Re: Help please.

When editing a registry first and foremost BACK IT UP!!!!

If you have a 64 bit system there is also an entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in the SOFTWARE folder under WoW6432Node.

Re: Help please.

By deleting the Register entries as Pindarus described and manually deleting the Rome Total War folder you should be able to install it again. Be very careful when editing the register. If you do something wrong, it could cause severe problems.

I had a similar problem a few days ago, and deleting the registry entries solved the problem for me.
