My only problem with Darthmod...

The unit sizes are so large you can't form 3 rank groups of infantry, the best you can do is four... this just seems odd. I know somebody is going to come in and go "hurf turn down unit sizes!" but that creates unusually sized groups of units as it's designed for ultra settings. (it will, for example, make your artillary units have less cannons)

I don't suppose it'd be possible to make it so that you can extend lines larger than possible now to make them ranks of 3?

Why not just 4 ranks? Much better, with three ranks your fire becomes more ineffective if just one soldier dies, since that's one less soldier firing, with 4 ranks, the ones in the rear rank can be considered "refill".

Two reasons.

1) Historical Accuracy. Everybody used 3 ranks except the brits who used two ranks.

2) Firepower. More men on the front line means more booming.

I like commander editions huge armies but I think they are slightly too large. Reducing them to the level where all factions can form 3 lines would be quite nice... oh well.

I had the same grievance, however I found a solution. When you select the unit, look over on the bottom right. There's some buttons above the unit commands for both increasing file which thickens the line and increasing rank which widens the line. Just increase rank till its 3 ranks. Note though that if you try to adjust the rank manually after that you run into the same problem as earlier so i advise just sticking to the almost 3 ranks or just 4.
