This mod will let you play any emergent faction including the U.S. in a late campaign starting in 1778. It's better than RTI because you can set the difficulty. It's shorter than the normal grand campaign but you could changed the turns to 4 per year.

thats not fair it would be good 2 play them in grand capaign

RTI, chapter 4, essentially is the grand campaign, with access to all of the theatres included in the grand campaign. The main difference is that you start in year 1783 (or close to it) and begin with a lot more technology already researched than you do in the GC. You are still very much a small fish in a big pond, as all other major nations are FAR more developed than you. I think I enjoyed RTI more because of this. I started as a nothing, a spec. And I worked really hard to prove myself over the course of the campaign.

I don't fully get people's disappointment that they aren't in the "grand campaign" proper. They have something specially tailored for them, and as someone who's played it through to the end, it's quite enjoyable!

I'd rather have the U.S. in the grand campaign because I like building my empire (or republic) from the ground up. You also can't choose a difficulty level in the RTI campaign. It's also much shorter than the grand campaign.

I find that there's still plenty of building to do, and your prestige level as the US is absolutely in the tank. I really enjoyed the slow process of gaining enough prestige to no longer be the laughing stock of the civilized world. But I guess to each his own on this one.

You also can't choose a difficulty level in the RTI campaign.

As far as I can tell, it's stuck on medium difficulty, for the campaign. I'd guess that this could be modded, but hopefully a patch will include a menu option to adjust difficulty . Seems like an oversight to me, and probably not too tough to include.

It's also much shorter than the grand campaign.

It's true that you have to meet your victory conditions much sooner, but the game allows to continue playing once you've done so. So technically speaking you could play a more protracted campaign.

One question.

I keep reading that US is emergent? Now tell me, does it always happen at a certain year? Or is it random or what?

If my GB GC didnt die I was getting clost to 1776 with owning the whole world minus the inuit (declearing war caused crash, everytime) and st johns (same thing lol)
would loved to have seen an uprising in america? Would it be just the 13 colonies or the whole continent since I owned it all?

When any region that starts as belonging to Thirteen Colonies or the region "Maine" (starts out as French) rebels, they will rebel as the USA. If the rebellion is successful, USA will emerge as a faction. This is not dependent on the year of the campaign, but only on one of these regions revolting. It could theoretically happen on turn 4.

":It could theoretically happen on turn 4."

In my Brittish campain, it happen on turn 4, year 1702

Had it happen here in 1703 when I started playing as Great Brittain. Iriquis took Maine, Maine rebelled, US emerged and took over all 13 colinies by 1708.
