I thought you might be interested in seeing my army basically scatter to the four winds. Christ knows why it happened, but it caused more casualties than I'd have liked! :P Scratch army to combat 4 full Iberian stacks at Iruna.

I'm really LOVING my parthian campaign, so I decided to post some pics here :)

My former heir (now King of Kings). This was taken on his coming of age, he wasn't the heir, but I immediately made him. He also received many of their father's retinue members since he was about to retire to his favourite city, Taxila, to enjoy his elderly years.

And the former leader of my beloved enemies of the Silver Kingdom

Battle at Campus Aorsi

The Sabaeans try to halt my advance on Arabia... with no success

The Seleucids try to lift the siege at Susa

But they fail

Although I have a great empire now, I have conquered it at great cost. The battles against the Baktrians were very though and the Seleucids keep resisting me. Their heavy infantry never quit. I've conquered and lost cities like Susa, Phraspa or Charax (to mention just this three) more than once, either because their previous owners laid siege on them and defeated me or the population rebelled and kicked me out. The same to the north. Since the first time I conquered Campus Aorsi, the population rebelled and join the Scythians and we're at war since then. I've fought many battles against them and only now I've been able to retake the city. The general and governor was a young man when the war starded, but he is now a grizzled veteran of the war in the steppes. In Arabia things have been easier, but not easy. The elephants I recruited in India and took with the army in the campaing are helping a lot, but reinforcements are hard to come by and the Sabaeans have really good skirmish troops that make a lot of damage on my horse archers and elephants.
And this is why I'm really loving this campaign :)

That also set me back a lot. Then I came back with another army and took it.:D

this is my Cyrene provincal campaign

opps srry about that

Here's a picture of the Aegean sea in my GCS campaign. Everybody lives in peace and richness. Of course, the situation on the borders is quite different :)

Bridge battle fun!

Holding this sector whilst other units flank far to the North in the Balkans. More often than not 2 stacks of Roman attempt the assault, and I have just sent my archers off the field having exhausted their ammo on the 1st stack.

Romans trample over the corpses of their former comrades to haste their own journey unto Hades.

next stop is rhodes at which point i will return to asia minor, finish off the IGCS and set my armies up near byzantium

The Spartan Royal Guard is really good, they literally saved the day at the beginning of my campaign as Greek Cities. When defending Thebes against a huge and experienced macedonian stack (3800 troops) they alone inflicted 1080 casualties on the enemy and survived to tell the tale (I turtled at the center with everything I got):

I had 300 spartans in a newly conquered ex-Thracian city trying to convert it to western civilization. Thrace wanted it back. My spartans had a disagreement with it.

Playing with Carthage. The Romans tried to attack Aleria with ships, but their forces... "weren't able to make a landing" :whistling. After destroying there navy, I decided to pull down all their italian cities and more important - shipwrights. That happened with Arretium (they deserved it)

PS.: The city walls of Rome and some cities are stronger than the others' reinforced walls and four units of Catapults could not be enough for pirate raid
