Not the Latest DirectX Version?

Hello there. I have recently downloaded the Empire: Total War demo from Steam. I was all excited about playing so when it hit 100% i clicked the launch button i got an error saying I didn't have the latest version of DirectX. Now I know I do (DirectX 11) because I did the dxdiag thing and it said DirectX Version 11. So I went to the Microsoft website and tried to download it but I got an error saying that there was an internal error and that I should refer to the DXError.log and DirectX.log in my Windows folder to determine the problem. I have no clue what this is so any help would be appreciated.

The demo has issues. I think what solved mine was restarting the comp. Could try downloading the demo again. Just keep troubleshooting and you'll get it.

The demo isn't too much fun, being unpatched and all that.

from what i have read, Vista SP2 has to be installed.

I havent upgraded to DX11 Beta.

Have you looked at the bottom of the first page of your dxdiag? Mine says directx11.

Same here, had to install Windows6.0-KB971512-x64.msu.

Yes I have 64-bit edition and yes it says I have DirectX 11 at the bottom of the first page of the dxdiag thing. Anyone know the problem?
