I agree with that rationale, but it indirectly nerfs spies. I rarely waste his action for a turn on infiltration anymore if I already know composition and my own army isn't severely dinged up (when I would commonly withdraw anyway). I agree though that identifying the makeup of an army wouldn't require any special subterfuge skill. Perhaps if unit statistics were hidden by default and revealed by infiltration missions along with numbers it would regain it's usefulness.

Agree. Being able to see all the units, buildings and tax income in an enemy city from afar is a bit much. And by looking at the flag (normal or ragged) you can tell whether the units are at full strength or not.

I have tried that about 5 or so times... but yes i just wanna play the game (Vanilla) but unless you guys come out with some fix for the DLC/Vista

btw this mod is amazing it just sucks when you pay for something and it doesn't even work... (meaning empire total war)

I just have two very minor bugs.

The unit preview (when you right click the unit card) for Austria's Grenz infantarie is broken. If you just click them first, it shows the a messed up picture of just the uniforms of an artillery unit, but if you preview another unit first and then the Grenz infantarie, the previous unit is shown. In battle and on the small unit cards on the bottom, the Grenz infantarie is correct though.

Also the issue I had with Russia in the beginning is mostly gone, but playing as Austria, the diplomacy panel with the diplomatic options with another country still reports the wrong number of available ports.

2 more things to try for you:

1. delete the user.empire_script.txt. You find the path in the Detailled installations instructions thread
2. make sure there are no old movie type localsations in your data folder, they can cause your game to crash. You find a list of vanilla files in the Detailled installation instructions thread, so you can check and remove any additional ones

and last: fix for DLC/Vista?!?! Our mod is working on overy Empire Version and on every Operation System. We do not plan or need to fix anything.

You shouldn't be able to recruit militia anywhere but in the Ukraine, and I'm not so sure I wanted them linked to the government building there either. Hence their name: Ukrainian Land Militia. They were yeomen (free men, as opposed to the serfs that most of the rest of the army was composed from) charged with defending the Ukraine-Azov frontier from Tatars.

I have been trying to get 2.1 install and i reached a problem. i too can only get the intro screen before it freezes.
I have also gone over your install page and there seems to be problems with whats on the page or when i am receiving from the files.
1. i only got the data folder from the 2.1 download and it did not include the patch_is_text.pack or the user.empire_script.txt.
2. when i verify my files it downloads patch2.pack which is not on your list for vanilla files.

some clarification would be nice, thanks.

edit:
i just donwloaded the 2.1 from megaupload and it had all the files so filefront may have some bad files in it. it still does not start. do i need a hotfix or something?

on 1. The data folder should contain patch_is_text.pack... the user.empire_script.txt should be in the archive seperately. Can you post how exactly your downloaded archive looks like?
on 2. the patch2.pack was added last patch, it is not in the list yet, but I will fix that immediatly.

one of the downloads had files:
data->
campaings->contails the tga files and startpos and lua file
Imperial Splendour DB.pack
Imperial Splendour Media.pack (i also got a crc error when unzipping it)

It seems that the Cavalry, who in Vanilla normally couldn't dismount have still hoof sounds, when they are dismounted an walking. :D

It occured with the Orta, berber horse riders. You have them at the very start with marocco.

but what i meant was that you guys are still working for a way to make vista/DLC play the mod...that's all (when you guys get it working i will be one of the first to get it)

Small bug, not sure if this is IS or vanilla, but sometimes when two armies engage on the campaign map, someone will say "enemy fleet ahead" or something along those lines, instead of talking about an army. Nothing to fret about, but thought it was worth pointing out;)

I got two big problems with ETW and IS; the first is that since the auto update to 1.5 all movies go extremely slow with extremely slow sound too (about 1 frame every 10secs or something), forcing me to press ESC every movie (both intro movies and ingame). After hours of searching i got the static background in the main menu but its still unbelievable annoying. I have a laptop with a Radeon Mobility 2600 and ETW always worked perfectly until now. Updated catalyst control center, directx etc. Still not fixed.

The second problem is that I yesterday installed the AI and All factions file for IS 2.1, and now i can't start a new campaign anymore. Everytime i do i just get the loading screen loads to about halfway then suddenly i'm back on the main menu :s. Saved games still work though.

that bug (the second one, no idea about the third one) is caused by not having a proper regions folder. Are you sure you have installed the whole IS 2.1 file and not only the 2.1.1 patch?

Where have you put those files? What are the contents of the data/campaigns/imperial_splendour folder (roughly, check for Regions.esf, Startpos.esf and rough number of files)

Another bug: 1741, Sweden. After repleneshing some units after a large battle, I'm getting weird new numbers. Some of my generals now have large bodyguards again like in vanilla (one has 61 men!). Also, one of my 12 pound foot artillery units now has 61 men and another 24. I've also got Aldens cavalry at 48 and 59 men.

not sure if this is IS or empire delux mod or just my game, but when a menu pops up or i have an opened message in game, it flashes a bit in the background...almos tlike a graphical glitch. again, i dont know what to attribute it to.

Ive had the same problem, with IS2 and other mods, so it could be vanilla or an issue thrown up by some mod making tool glitch since 1.5. Re you running any other mods other than IS2?


LordNooke Not making navies sounds not good any1 else experience this? Just wondering what version IS2 / stratpos are you running.

I'm using your FX5Lite mod, but that is supported by IS and I doubt it's causing the glitch.

Yup FXlite wont touch anything Sound related. (i took out all the sound stuff just in case)

Did you upgrade IS2 version mid campaign maybe? Maybe when mod packs get updated some weird glitch arises - its only small but i agree its kinda annoyin.

Wierdest thing is i removed it once by unpacking and repacking the mod - how that makes sense i got no idea.

No I did a fresh install due to a CTD I was getting in all my campaigns 5-20 turns in during the AI's turn. I figured I must have messed something up and in my experience, a fresh install will fix most oddities. Since then, I haven't had a CTD yet (except in loading up a battle once, but then I reloaded my save, played the same battle, and it worked fine. Must have been ETW being moody or something :P)

Russia trading bug
When I look at the trade screen (next to the ministers screen) it says that almost all of my trade routes are by land except that they are NOT. I read earlier that someone found a bug where the AI diplomacy doesn't recognize the first or any of the ports owned by Russia and so this may be the reason why its not working. It even says I'm using a land route to trade with Britain :laughter: (P.S. Britain has no territory near me)

Is this a bug? My swedish 16pounder howitzer can't fire shells, its always stuck on melee, when i do tell it to fire, say the ground they do the fire animation, but nothing comes out...Has someone mentioned this bug already or no?..

Playing as Savoy, about 30 turns in. France has declared war on me and attacks my home region. However, every time I try to fight the battle, the game freezes and doesn't unfreeze. I have 1st level fortifications if that has anything to do with it. Up until this point the game works as usual.

Russia trading bug

This is not a Russia trading bug, but rather an Ingria trading bug. Sweden gets it too, because of that Trading Port in Ingria. No idea why.

Are you running the Hotfix? If you are, then let me know. I thought I squashed this one already.

Hello :) ,

It surprised me the first time to get an inuit stack "teleported" near my new foundland colony (as the french) as I believed the sea was enough as a wall.
Seems the straight between New Foundland and Inuit Nation territory still exists while there isn't the "golden arrow" path to cross it.
At the opposite, the southern straight near Cree Capital (between huron territory and iroquois' michigan territory) doesn't exists while there is that "golden arrow" path. The western one towards wildlands works fine (as all the other ones I tried till now).
Tried it with military units and agents (never know) it's the same (see below). Not big deal once you're aware of it ("just" graphics). Not even sure if it's an IS bug :hmm:.
