Hi all, just joined these forums yesterday :) After finding a nice mod so I could play as Denmark :cool:
When playing as DK i thought that it would be cool to have Danish text ingame... so after searching the forums i found a tool so i could open the .pack files :thumbsup2
And now i've started to translate the ingame text to Danish...
And i would just like to know if there where some Danes that would like to help translating all these lines of English to Danish :)
You might ask yourself why i write this in English when i'm looking for someone from Denmark to help...
But it's because i thought that some would probably get inspired and make a translation to their own language :)

BTW: Posting some screenshots of what i've done, when i have the time to upload to photobucket

Guess it's good for the danish players with a small english vocabulary, being danish myself i would never download this mod just because i hate seeing movies/games in danish text ;)

Well. I think having an English-speaking mother really aided me in my English vocabulary. But even with what I consider good English...I might prefer playing the game with Danish text, instead.

Working on the UI (User Interface)

BTW @ Fratyside: How can you be Danish, Swedish And Australian!? :P

Hey thats pretty cool Troels.
I think I will stick with english text but you know what would be really cool?

If you made a danish description when you choose the faction from the list.

I am not that into translating the game but I would sertainly like some flavor added to Denmark.

Dude, long story.

Short version: My farfar is Danish my farmor is Swedish....my mor is Australian (Yep...) and my far is Danish/Swedish. My morfar is Australian but my mormor is a Swede who moved to Australia.

I consider myself more Danish than anything else, though. It's confusing, I know. But nonetheless, I am proud of being a Dane with Australian and Swedish blood, as well. Plus I needed to take up space in my siggy so I decided what the hell, I'll put in the Swedish userbar, as well. :P

I'm also looking into making a description to the Danish faction...
But problem is that there is about 20-30 lines in the text where it says "Not Playable" So i would have to give them numbers, then start the game and see what number Denmark have... And then find it in the text... And then come up with something to write.
Hmm maybe it could be ("A nation just waiting to take over the world") :tongue: nah... It have to be some historically correct i guess :hmm::cool: If you have a suggestion then PM it to me or write it here ;)

Would have been more confusing if I used grandfather/grandmother in English. At least with "farfar" and "morfar" etc, you know which is which. :P

Hmm I am not historican expert I am afraid.
You should ask some of the dudes who posted here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=118773

I wish empire modding was at easy to understand like rtw and mtw2 cause then I would be all in for giving Denmark/Norway a makeover.

I wonder if we can give them danish voices in the future :hmm:
That might be a fun project.

No they dont have any special units... They have the same units as the swedish But they talk German lol :doh:

Well it is possible... ;) We would just need somebody to make some danish voices of a good quality and not the normal microphone crap quality ;)

wonder a little how come Malta have maltesish voices while danes speak swedish? is it just becausse nobody in Ca can pronounce Æ, Ø, Å

malta is a 1 city isle, that either is a protectorate or easy pray :P

What you should look at is the ui (user interface) ;)

Danish description (Just made it quickly to see how it would look):



Actually when i gave all these "Not Playable" texts a number, it showed that Denmark was number 1! Hehe CA certanly know wich country in the world is the best (or happiest) :P

It will be some time before the release because i don't have that much spare time to make it
+ there is more than 1000 lines of tekst to be translated, and much of it stands there again and again

im also dainish but live in germany, so no problem for me with the german sounds :thumbsup2 !! But im a failure in dainish writings so thats why ur reading english right now... But im looking forward to this mod, especially if it gets dainish sounds... keep the good work up troels!!

Edit: Hannover was my first protectorate and Sweden my first victim...

They would be in the patch_en.pack (if you installed it in english i guess) file under text>localisation.loc and then in the tag "factions_screen_name_nationname" e.g. "factions_screen_name_austria" ;)

After a long time with no word. I would just say that im not stopped making it... I just had a little brake from ETW ;)
I think i will release a beta soon. But not all things will be translated!
BTW: I dont know why my thread have been moved to "Released Mods"... Could a moderateor please move it to the right place? :) thanks
