Golden Ages : Total War.1st Preview is released!!!

Re: Golden Ages : Total War

Oh sorry, but I'm german too :). I'd like too do some research about the vikings or the east frankish empire but the Ummayid Emirate of Cordoba would be interesting too. I've found a nice map here:
http://www.euratlas.com/history_europe/europe_map_0900.html

Funnily enough, I'm looking at that map now...
Could you do some research on Cordoba please? East Franks would be good too, but right now, as we have no-one else looking at the Muslims, it would be more useful to me if you could do the Emirate/Caliphate of Cordoba.
Thanks! :)

Re: Golden Ages : Total War

I think the frankish and the viking are already taken, but i don´t mine a hand in the viking research area:yes:

I thought you'd want to do Vikings... :laughter:
OK then... I assume you've done some Viking skins for your other mod? Sorry I can't spell the name (but rest assured I will play it!)

Re: Golden Ages : Total War

I could gather some Information about the Ummayid Emirate too if that faction isn't already given to someone else.
@icedie: Which programs do you use for modelling and skinning? I'd like to learn to do that too.

Re: Golden Ages : Total War

Ok, then I'll do that faction.

The vikings are mine, muahahaha:laughter:, i use milkshape3d for modeling and gimp2.4 for skinning, also Lithunwrap for UV mapping my units skin.

:thumbsup2 cool mate i am sure your first faction will be Fortrui and the Vikings:laughter:

Foirtriú was called Alba since 843, when Cinaed Mac Alpín united the picts and the scots.

Oh that´s interesting , where did you get that info? but i was refering to VLL and that start at 620ac.

Another think was dublin in the vikings hand? i think so, and aso how do we solve the issue that england was conquered by the danes in 1013 by Sven Forkbeard?
do we make and event ? so some emergen units can popup in engaland in certain years.

Re: Golden Ages : Total War

kornflakes said we are now in our german forum. is that right??
Now we have two map-disigner it could be difficult to work on one map!:hmmm:

Don't worry, you are still our main map designer! It's just, as you were having trouble last night, I asked Boemondo di Taranto if he would have a go at it.

And Gogo T, would you please be able to give us a map showing a historically accurate starting position for the Tsardom of Bulgaria in 900AD? Thanks!

And finally-- have we got a German subforum yet? And, when we do, is it going to be English speaking, or are the non German members like Kallum, Icedie and I going to have to rely on Kornflakes...

It need a few days (until Mick comes online )

In the open-forum we have to talk german
but in the internal forum(with passwords) we can talk english

OK then, seems good. Looks like you will be our "spokesman" to the German modding community then! :) Kallum, Icedie and I will have to lurk around quietly in the background until we get an English forum...

Oh by the way, have you made contact with the Reconquista team yet?

Oh for me it'll be Northumbria all the way! One question, will the town of Ormskirk appear on your map? It's only a few miles from where I live, and was a fairly important settlement in Saxon times, between the Mersey and Ribble...

And thanks for the map Vespasian68!

It's on wiki. I was saying though, for this mod, that that country could not be called Foirtriú, but alba instead.

Dubh Linn was certainly in the possession of Vikings by 900. I'm not sure one could represent it as being under any unified authority with the other viking groups however. Dubh Linn though was very much associated with York, with man, and with the Western Isles (Innse Gall). If there was a separate faction of Vikings for that, it would make sense.

It was just a joke, just to support the cause, they are my units!!:)

So you are suggesting to add another viking faction state or sort of?

Re: Golden Ages : Total War

Perhaps. Or one could leave all these areas with Strong Viking rebels and turn them into viking aors.

Re: Golden Ages : Total War

What timeframe will this mod cover? I could make a little overview with the most important events that took place in this time and maybe one could add some scripted events to the mod if that's possible.

Re: Golden Ages : Total War

Good idea
I'll help you

I make 900- 1000
you 1000- 1079
OK?

You can ask Adorno, how to script a event
(in reconquista there are over 150 new scripted events)

Ok, that's good. I'll start creating a list of events from 1000 to 1079 now and later i'll ask adorno how to incorporate them into the game.
