Do any of you guys own this on 360?

Nope, but paying to play this online I guess would be worth it, as online adds a whole new aspect that keeps you on your toes. Pvp was really perfected in this game, even if joining the Darkmoon covenant will most likely end up with you bieng ambushed by some lazy grinders....

But some things never change.

Huzzah! Just beat 4 kings on NG+ they were a pain indeed

I just went in with full Havel's plus mass of the mother, was a but annoying when I'd miss them with my zwei though

Hardest boss for me by far, I was stuck on it for a few days, where do you get their armor though? I know it has something to do with the order you kill them but they didn't drop it. Also, if Solaire dies while helping me with a boss, is he dead for the entire playthrough?

You get their armor depending on who you kill last. Kill Ornstein last for his armor, and vice versa. It will be purchasable from Domnhall of Zena, (he's under/on the bridge near firelink, just jump from the cliff were you fight your first hollow knight and onto the bridge) And if Solaire dies when helping you with a boss, nothing happens. Zip. Nada. Nothing. He's fine.

For now....

Don't worry, I've already started farming humanity so I can join Chaos covenant to save him, even if he will be mopey about me saving him

Also, do you think the health bonuses of Mask of the Mother outweigh the extra poise from Havel's helmet, I can't decide!

That's your choice. I'd say Havel's Helmet, unless you need to equip other heavy stuff and you still want to roll. Also I don't know what the HP bonus is, but anything less than 50's not that handy :)

But you got a bit unlucky with mask of the mother, I think Mask of the Child is the best (gives stamina regen bonus), or maybe Father (equip burden bonus).

You can buy then from Patches later I think so I might get then then, both playthroughs I've gotten it so far.

Also use the yellow pine resin to do extra damage to the boss

Yeah, after dieing a couple of times I thought it would be a good idea to sit at the top of the tower and just firebomb him. It's not like he can jump I thought, nope!

lol when that first happened to me that was fricken scary. I thought I would be killed by its hammer.

Surprisingly I wasnt and fell off the tower before he had the chance to take me.

Now, is there one boss we actually dread fighting? Veterans of Demons Souls would know how this feels... *shudder maneater shudder*
For me, its the four kings. I loathe them and feel like im doing something tantamount to suicide verytime I have to go through that boss again.
What say you?

Easily Nito, the boss is just a pain to get to, not that hard but still annoying. O&S are easily the most difficult to me but I enjoy fighting them because there's no bs to it like Nito. I mean come on just take away half of my health before the fight has started!

I didn't find Maneater hard. Run up to him in hyper mode, and cast Firestorm. Almost always a OHKO. Run up to the second one and do the same. Seriously, you didn't even need a high lvl of Magic. Around 20 was enough to put him in a condition of unbearable pain.

As for boss fights... I think Firesage demon. Seriously weird, because I think Stray Demon's a wuss, but Firesage demon seems to jump back more often, and then he does that attack where he slams his axe but it also causes a huge explosion that deals like half your hp. Very annoying. From now on I'll just take the shortcut from the covenant. Also Nito, but that's because I only fought him once (because I always leave Tomb of Giants as the last level, because I first want the Sunlight Maggot), so I don't know just how strong he is. But I think that, just as Steve Holt said, I hate it more because the way to him is pretty hard. And when you finally get there you lose half your hp.

I've got a level 26 knight who's as far as the Capra Demon so far (just died very quickly 3 times in a row, so taking a break) but I'm now half wondering what a magic character's like.

I like my knight with the huge Zweihander, but some of the spells look intriguing. Is it worth restarting to a battlemage type thing? Not sure if Pyro, sorcery or miracles. Or should I keep trying to play as my knight? It looks like it would be quite hard to mould him into a magic/fighter as I've fairly well invested into strength etc atm.

Is the magic worth it? And are mixed classes any good?

Sorcery for me is actually a big no if you're playing for the first time. As good as it was in Demon's Souls, as bad as it is in Dark Souls. Don't get me wrong, it still has the very strongest spells (more specifically, you'll deal most damage in the game with a sorcery), but they're only available very late in the game and they require a huge lvl of Intelligence. In the beginning of the game, you're stuck with spells taking 50 years to cast and doing pitiful damage, unless you put a good chunk in Intelligence.

Pyromancies however, are a completely different case. You don't have any requirements for them, so you can give it to pretty much every character you can get. Also, to improve them, you don't have to improve any levels, but the Pyromancy Hand (the item with which you use Pyros) itself. This way, you don't lvl up and you have to spend less souls to level up. Pyromancies are also very powerful and deal a lot of damage. Don't restart though ! You can get a Pyro Hand in the next level (just after Capra Demon, then into the Depths)

In short, you can turn the biggest tank (with high Vit, End and Str) into a Pyromancer pretty easily, by just upgrading the hand. If you want to give him sorceries, however, you'll have to upgrade the Int a LOT, and you have to do a small quest near the end to get the good spells.
