"Das Heilige Römische Reich": A Call to Arms!

A Call to Arms!

No, you haven't been ultra-secretly transported back in time by a dangerous and scheming alien ....

It's just your favorite (uniqueTM) Holy Roman Empire mod calling!thinking 'bout it, that doesn't sound much saner....

Now, some of our more attentive fans will have noticed a distinctive lack of activity in our forum over the past months. This was caused by the absence (or better the abduction by selfsame alien....that's at least what the authorities told us) of our former Mod Coordinator konny, who is still missing.

Heavy of Heart and lame of limb, the team has to go on - and we need your help! guess you didnt saw that one coming

(and of course we have new ingame footage, you spoiled brats wouldn't click this for some lame jokes, would you?)

"Das Heilige Römische Reich" is recruiting!

Scripters:

The mechanisms behind the screenhave always been heart and soul of dHHR and will be so in future.
As a scripter in our team, you will need a basic knowledge about the scripting landscape of MTW2 and an unbreakable will to bring up and overthrow new ideas, as well as an angelic amount of patience - notably with your fellow team members, who's ignorance on the subject will not stop them from battering you with their retarded, ever hungry brainchildren!

Coders:

Future changes will also be made to our recruitment-, building- and combat system, to improve the unique management and "Knight Realism" of dHHR. A host of new factions awaits its turn to join the seasoned lot of old buddies you have made in previous versions.

NOTE: This does not show the final artwork!

but this one does!

Faction regions may change, too - perhaps on your initiative?

So, if you ever had a look into EDB and EDU - and you are knowing what i am actually talking about - consider yourself dHHR's upoming next coder.

Modellers/Skinners:

Though nothing is as important as the inner values, we are no loathers of beauty, either. All persons sharing our feelings - and having, by chance, skills which apply to textures and models - will be welcome. Don't hesitate because you are a beginner, you can only improve. My humble self will lend you a helping hand in stepping into a wonderful new world of pixels and polygons, where everything is possible - save for giving you back the life you will waste with us.

These guys from italy show you which awesome heights of craftmanship you can climb (with a little help from DisgrunteldGoat, in this case....)

Oh, and for those who didn't notice: Mathilda is still on board, she even got herself a new outfit...

Of course, such positions as Researcher and Artist are always open for you, too.... i am just running out of jokes!

And now for something completely different.....

My collegue Margraf von Schellenberg presenting the weather!

Wait, those aint no weather charts....

Nice Pictures! Well, I don't have the time to do unit skins, but if you need minor 2d graphics such as banners, signatures, coats-of-arms, a nice map etc., i'm your man! :D (I'm experienced in Photoshop and have done modding for other games (TES4) for years)

Re: "Das Heilige Römische Reich": A Call to Arms!

Maybe I can help out. For my personal use I modded the game already so that the player can decide which imperial factions to ban (aggressor or victim) if he is emperor (and the requirements for the automatic ban have been met). Currently I am working on my own mod which is very similar to dHRR and largely influenced by your previews, so maybe I can help you out with unit models/skins and other scripting work as well.
I'll post some screens of the units tomorrow or later in the evening.

Re: "Das Heilige Römische Reich": A Call to Arms!

I'm a coder, but I'm currently too busy to help out 'full-time' (I'm modleader myself) but I can do small jobs here and there if you need me to. Earlier I offered to finnish the dHRR Roll, and I'd still gladly do that (if the next version is far enough away, at least).

Re: "Das Heilige Römische Reich": A Call to Arms!

Some unit screenshots, as promised. One thing is strange though: when the engine switches to the lower lod mipmap the texture gets misaligned and there are black seams on the faces / arms.

Re: "Das Heilige Römische Reich": A Call to Arms!

Great looking map, I see theres porsony what I find cool, but the city itself used name Pressburg (german) orPosonium (latin) or instead pressburg Iwould suggest using Nitra (which was capital of upper hungary at that time, quite important centre with castle / previously second biggest city of great moravia and seat of bishop with population betwen 1k to 3k) ,

names given to the city by the time: Nitra (880), Nitria (1111), Nitra (1158), Nitria, Nithria (1198), Nitria, Nitra (1211), Nitra (1214), Nitria, Nitra (1223)

btw I can take a look on some research or bit of modeling/skinning/units or strat map models ;)

Re: "Das Heilige Römische Reich": A Call to Arms!

Und herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag Hannibal!!! :bparty:

Re: "Das Heilige Römische Reich": A Call to Arms!

well, i joined!

i'm happy :)

now i'm gonna work on:

srry, can tell that

Re: "Das Heilige Römische Reich": A Call to Arms!

we just sort a lost our second coder to the repercussions of the damn crisis. so we are open for appliances. we really need one, as the last one wasn't quite done yet. so please: Apply!

I want to thank S.P.Q.R Praetorian for what he already has done and hope he will still be able to be a (small) part of our group

Re: "Das Heilige Römische Reich": A Call to Arms!

the economical crisis......dunno if you heard of it.....
sorry people....

Re: "Das Heilige Römische Reich": A Call to Arms!

the problem is that we need a experienced coder, as most factions still aren't available. S.P.Q.R made a sort of pre-alpha, but without someone who can code in all the factions, we are kinda lost

Re: "Das Heilige Römische Reich": A Call to Arms!

ok, let me say this really, really carefully:

IF, and I emphasize on IF, we get a coder/multiple coders WITH EXPERIENCE willing to help us, I will support this and drag this mod out of the mod-retirement home. but therefore we need CODERS. no researchers, no novices, real coders. if your interested, PM me
