Hi.

I am new here and i am not a big mod user, so i mean i use only one mod its called all factions unlock version 1.
I think i found this in the total war center webpage and this is a good mod. I have saxons, normanns, and everybody, including aztecs too, lol. And of course, my two fav faction, mongols and timurids.
I dont know, you know about this mod or no.
If i start a campaign, then a message show up, like in Kingdoms, when the narrator says the world its already taken and etc. And then i can play with mongols and timurids and other factions too. But this message show up with every factions...unfortunately aztecs not very playable, but they are here.

So, may main problem... well... can i post here my own video about the problem?
If no, then sorry, but i put here the link, i just uploaded yesterday.

Watch this, please.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7sIkFiP6tE

So nobody can speak, i cant hear a voice from the army, or anybody... and the timurids cant speak too.
But when i the computer is playing i can hear the mongols and timurids voice.

So is there a solution how to put here a voice for mongols and timurids?

Its annoying, because i wanna enjoy the mongols and timurids voice.

Sorry about my bad english, i hope you can understand my problem and maybe you can help to me.

Thanks.

Hi mongoltimuridfan and welcome to TWC and enjoy your stay!

Common problem, please patch your TW to the latest patch, preferably Kingdoms 1.5.
And then you've to assign soundfiles to the accent. The mongolian accent is the one with the fewest voices.
Either assign the russian or whatever voices you might see fit with him.
You might find one or the other tutorial in the Sound and Media section of the Tutorial subfora of use.
Like that in my signature for example :whistling

Enjoy modding :)

Thank you very much.

Well i'm from Hungary and we have a hungarian language pack for the game and its awesome, i enjoy it.
But well, if maybe patch the game again, then the hungarian language pack maybe lost :(.
I dont know, i will think about this, but really thanks your answer, it was a big help .

My game currently its on 1.3 patch i think... i have the expansion pack to, this is a Gold Edition, so i think with Kingdoms i have got 1.5 patch too.

Ok, so then just don't patch it, but in order to make the mongols/timurids actually speak more, you've to assign them voices in the sound text files.
You won't get around this, that means reading unpacking the game (for gold edition), preferably donwloading and using a modfolder, downloading the officially released sound text files, downloading the .idx extractor and following some Tutorials of the sound and media section, f.e. mine ;)

You are cool, thanks man.

I have other big, huge problem in the game and this error its always return.
After 150 round in the game will tell me...

Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit

Can anybody help to me?

Or maybe you, Aikanár:

I play with Hungary and the game cant change the round because this error show up and the game just exit or quit to desktop.

Before this i dont have this error and just started after 145 round and i try to save often but still drop me out from the game.

Sorry, i know this isnt this topic, i just dont wanna make a new topic for this... maybe somebody can help me here.

Thanks.

In the Hungarian forum the guys told me, use save often... i tried this.... my game its original but this  show up always now in the 150th round and i cant continue my game... its annoying.

Hm, sounds either like a corrupted savegame, a problem with your fiel cache or something else ;)
Could you please open your .cfg file and search for "disable_file_cache =" check if it reads like "disable_file_cache = true" if not so, change it in order that it reads like that.
And while you're in the config file, please make sure that it starts with:

[io]
file_first = true

and has logging activated like this:

[log]
to = logs/system.log.txt
level = * trace

Thanks you very much... btw i somehow made it after when i posted here my problem.

The game just dont wanna work, but i tried to save often and when the game made a change in the round i saved quickly... and thats it!

Finally i skipped myself to 151th round... and its ok now i will play again today.

But thanks the help .

I will check out this file... hm, i dont think so this is a corrupt save, but who know?

Thanks again

Hi, not to sure if this can be done. But. my question is simple.
1. Is it just a case of tagging Mongols with native accents to give them the aztecs voice?
2. Can it be done to use the voice files from say MTW the mongols voices. Or the RTW BI mongols horde voices. With the intention to use for Mongols accents ?
3. I would even be open to the idea of using the warlords voices in STW as an option? In fact the more I think about it the idea sounds better if this option could be done lol.:laughter:. Any feed back would be helpful:thumbsup2

1. yes
2. yes
3. yes

Thanks for the fast responce. However if I say use the STW voice file. Would it be a case of creating a new accent file to go within the MTW2 files. And would that also be a case of down to the single unit voices as well. Sounds a very indepth file in deed. On another note. I deleted the voice files in the S.S mod. Changed the Mongols to have accent= native. Then re-run the mod to allow the files to rebuild. It failed. Should I have to copied the voice or complete voice files from the americas mod to the SS mod before rebuilding:hmm:. Please advise.

Ok, there might have been a misunderstanding on my side.
Of course you can use the sound files from STW as long as you make sure that they are recorded in the correct format.
If they are compressed, packed or what not in any way (don't have STW installed) you've to extract them first to get to the raw material and then make sure they are in the right format.
After that you've to include them into the soundtextfiles and put them in the correct folder.
Basically follow the tutorial in my signature.
And since your using SS I suggest to really extract their sounds first, back up the idx and dat files beforehand, then do the above mentioned and join the sound files together.

Of course you can use the sound files from STW as long as you make sure that they are recorded in the correct format.
You can't then release them publicly as a medieval mod though, at least on TWC.:)
