German Translation/Deutsche Übersetzung RR/RC 13. August - Update 26.08.10

Hello everybody!

There is a german Translation of Stainless Steel 6.2 RR/RC (august 13) i want to share - if someone´s interested.

Mmh - translating the mod was much easier than writing something english on my own.

Guten Tag, hier ist die deutsche Übersetzung von Stainless Steel 6.2 mit RR/RC vom 13.August. Wahrscheinlich funktioniert diese Übersetzung ohne RR/RC nicht oder zumindest nicht gut (nicht alles übersetzt), da es Unterschiede in der Auswahl gibt. Bislang habe ich von einem Forummitglied gehört, das es wohl nicht funktioniert - öhm da gab es aber auch kleinere Probleme bei der Installation. Wäre nett wenn noch jemand bestätigen könnte, ob es funktioniert oder nicht. War schon am überlegen dranne seiend die spanischen Übersetzungen runterzuladen, die auch drei Versionen online haben, aber leider sind das exe-Dateien. Nicht übersetzt sind die BGR IV Texte. Ansonsten hoffe ich, das diese Übersetzung bei Einigen den Spielspaß erhöht und nicht allzu viele Texte fehlen bzw. nicht allzu viele Fehler enthalten sind. Wäre nett, wenn aufgefallene Fehler oder Anregungen im deutschen oder englischen Forum angesprochen werden. Also - viel Spaß Fred Putz P.S.: Natürlich kann jeder diese Dateien für eigene Zwecke verwenden, oder mit mir an anderen Versionen "arbeiten". Zur Installation: - Es gibt nun einfach 3 Textordner: 1100, 1220 und 1370 Seit irgendeinem Hotfix werden zum Spielstart alle strings.bin Dateien gelöscht und dann neu erstellt, daher werden zukünftige, wie diese Versionen ohne strings.bin Dateien kommen. Falls trotzdem kein deutscher Text angezeigt werden sollte, bitte erstmal die strings.bin Dateien löschen und neu versuchen. - also einfach entpacken und den gewünschten Inhalt nach Medieval II Total War/mods/Stainless_Steel_6/data/text kopieren - 1100 entspricht der frühen (großen) Kampagne - 1220 entspricht der späten (late) Kampagne unter "Eigene Kampagnen" - 1370 wäre für die 1450er Kampagne, die aber wohl entfernt werden soll - man kann mit dem Fortschreiten der Kampagne auch "spätere" Textdateien wählen, wenn man möchte, das sich z.B. die Bezeichnungen der Nationen an der Geschichte orientieren. Bekannte Fehler / Unzulänglichkeiten

Nicht übersetzte Dateien: - batte_descriptions = sind glaube ich nur die Beschreibungen der historischen Schlachten - campaign_descriptions = sind die Beschreibungen beim Start der Kampagne - hundred_years_war_regions_and_settlements - Italian_city_states_regions_and_settlements - reconquista_regions_and_settlements - alle Dateien in den BGR IV Ordnern Und ganz ehrlich gesagt werde ich diese auch nicht übersetzen - die beiden erstgenannten sieht man nur sehr kurz im Spiel und die übrigen sind nicht im Gebrauch. Vielleicht hat jemand Lust die BGR IV Dateien zu übersetzen falls jemand gerne damit zockt. Bisher bekannte Fehler: - Bislang keine (Komma, das, dass und daß mal außen vorgelassen) Bisher bekannte Unzulänglichkeiten: - Man kann wahrscheinlich immer was verbessern Geplante Änderungen: - erstmal nix

Historische Länderbezeichnungen

Falls man sich für historische Länderbezeichnungen interessiert kann man optional diese neuen Daten installieren. Es ist dabei nur die wirkliche Bezeichnung geändert, so das man nach wenigen Runden weiß, um wen es sich bei dem Namen handelt. Ich hoffe es gefällt. Zur Deinstallation einfach die gewünschten expanded Dateien (.txt und .strings.bin) aus dem normalen Ordner in den Textordner kopieren. Lateinische Bezeichnungen

Falls man sich für historische Länderbezeichnungen interessiert kann man optional diese neuen Daten installieren. Es ist dabei nur die wirkliche Bezeichnung geändert, so das man nach wenigen Runden weiß, um wen es sich bei dem Namen handelt. Ich hoffe es gefällt. Zur Deinstallation einfach die gewünschten expanded Dateien (.txt und .strings.bin) aus dem normalen Ordner in den Textordner kopieren. Zusätzlich gibt es in dieser Version die Möglichkeit die Jahreszahl mit dem Zusatz "AD" bzw. "AC" zu versehen, obwohl ich der Meinung bin, das es doch etwas sehr christlich ist. Dazu einfach die enthaltene "shared.txt" verwenden. Thank you for your advice Bane - and oh no, i didn´t know they were already doing a new translation.
I was working on a TATW Translation, then i tried Stainless Steel and started with this one.

I don´t use the german forums very much - in the end the mods i play are english.

but there were already the vanilla files, a DLV-Translation and wikipedia. So some Copy and Paste (with some rework) was very easy, but nonetheless it took over a month. (units and vnvs were hard - very hard - even harder!) I finished it yesterday, so i wanted to try the "new" stainless steel and hadn´t much time for looking at three threads and learning how to make a link work. Hopefully the first post is a bit better now and since it is about a german translation, some german is ok.

btw: feel free to use these files for a 6.1 or any other (perhaps german) translation.

the files as they are now are made by me - yes. But i haven´t translated everything on my own as mentioned above.
First i saw that the Religions were still german and then i thought i could make the UI in german. After that i startet as Teutonic Order and saw "Konigsberg" and "Ritterbruders". So i translated the settlement/Regions and the units, after that the buildings, because it don´t look good to have the recruitment menue in german and the construction menue in english.
Then i started a new game and thought: oh all the missions and events in german would be nice too and later there were only the vnvs and ancillaries left - so i did them too to have a complete translation.
In fact i would have played the whole mod in english - but....

I just want to say that this translation isn´t that impressing - more crazy or a bit mad.

Now i have to play my campgain with the seljuks a bit.

What always kills me is the "Knechten" unit. No idea if its still in the current (english) code

I can live with that as its doesnt look like a verb used as a noun.
Landsknecht Pikemen is working for me because Landsknecht is used as a designation similar to Pershing Missile.
So to use that example I'd accept Landsknecht Missile but Landsknechte Missile or Landsknechten Missile would sound strange for me.

But I forgot: It was near Palanga! Has anybody been there? Is it of historical interest? 25 km to the west is Kleipeda in Germany known as Memel.

Memel was one of the last stands in Prussia of the German armed forces against Soviet attacks, to enable as many refugees as possible to escape to the West. It was essentially a siege. I recommend 'The Forgotten Soldier' by Guy Sajer for a ground-level view of this battle.

I think you are talking about WW II. The game ends 1620 or so and my wife is lithuanian. So i´ve been to Palanga and enjoyed the amber museum there. The Botanical Garden and the Palace are really nice too - but that was built in the end of the 19th century. The rest of Palanga is a promenade, a beach and many many hotels - so to speak. I just was surpised to see it in any mod. Kleidepa is the oldest city in that region, that´s why i asked.

Till the post of weissnicht there was a . Now there is one and nothing else. I´m pretty sure it´s the one ring - but i won´t test it in fire!

Oh - in the account data - there are three rings. I just looked there to get that avatar. So i think there have to be at least 7 other rings out there - the rumors are true.
