i didn't think people keep playing this mini mod...maybe i should take a final version, i already have it in my own rtw with so many more changes than this ...

you see I've made my version work with several packs, when the 4tpy show you the date, and in the right year, you receive a message warning you "now will be a god time to install pack number 5 - gaius julius caesar" ... for example.

I've design 7 different packs, so no more stupid Marian reforms, now the reforms happen when it supposed to happen (or when you want to happen). You can jump from one pack to the other and even go back to previous packs and the game still works with the same savegame.

The problem is i should start asking for the right permissions and stuff...is a little disgusting process...hey anybody want's a new work as Carajudo's public relation?? LOL if anybody help me with those i can do the rest of things...:thumbsup2

as you see with each pack most of the units evolve....even the names of the officers and the factions change over time, for example, roman republic to roman empire. In the segmentata legionaries screen, the one with long trousers is just a "winter legionnaire" with bonus when walking or fighting on snow.

Well i say this once again, i need some sort of public relation assistant LOL somebody who goes trough the process of asking door by door to the different modders for permissions in using some model or skin... anybody???

Carajudo is back.
This minimod reincludes the imperial units for Rome Total Realism (DOESN'T REPLACE ANY RTR UNIT, ONLY ADD MORE UNITS TO THE GAME), i'm not working anymore in this mod, because i'm working in a new one.
Download the 1.5 version,is bug free,the older ones could contain some bugs,but is up to you!!!

Special thanks for the models and skins to:

- SPQR team, and It 1956
- Zhanguo total war , and Ninja 8181
- GODzilla and Pinarius (from the full legions skin packs)
- Riczu74

Hi people!!!
I’m Carajudo from Argentina.
This little mod is for all the RTR fans who miss the imperial units for Roma , it doesn`t try to be realistic just fun. The mod doesn`t replace ANY RTR units, just add more of them.
This new release include the following news:


New units (over RTR Gold):

1) Antesignani
2) Early Hastati
3) Early Principes
4) Early Triarii
5) Accensi
6) Rorarii
7) Leves
8) Late Legionaries (segmentata)
9) Late Legionaries (hamata)
10) Late Aquila Legionaries
11) Praetorians
12) Praetorian Cavalry
13) Cohortes Urbanae
14) Armatura Levis
15) Infantry Auxilia
16) Archer Auxilia
17) Late Antesignani
18) Vigiles
19) Spartan Royal Guard

New Skins and models:

1) Principes go back to RTR 6.1 skin

Other Features:

1) New Fort for Romans ,Barbarians and Eastern.(By Lt1956 and S.P.Q.R.)
2) Naval reskin (By Riczu and Snake IV)
3) New Speed for units.
4) Field of view increased (in battle map).
5) Reinclude Onagers and heavy Onagers for Romans only.
6) The campaign ends 100 AD
7) Stats fixed for Gauls,Greeks,Germans,Yllirians,Cartago,etc,etc (they are little harder to beat now)
8) Defense skill for ALL the units has been duplicated (this does not count against proyectiles), as result the battles are much longer.The charge also is rebalanced so it still working.
9) Removed the phalanx formation for all the hoplites (only using S1 animation pack)
10) Removed the “more grass” detail, but the long grass is a little longer now.
11) Removed the new terrain textures in the strategic map (I hate those) whit the old ones,but a little sharper.
12) New smoke for volcano.


Know Issues:

1)Some UI info cards missing (Rorarii,Roman Leves,Early Hastati,Early Princeps,Early Triarii,Accensi,),I still waiting someone help me whit this… L


Installation Instructions:

1) Install Rome Total War.
2) Install the Official 1.2 Patch
3) Install RTR Gold
4) Install Carajudo Imperial Legions 1.5

Very Important:You need to start a new campaign, this version isn’t save game compatible whit RTR or previous versions of this mod.

I'm unknown to other mods then RTR, so can you explain it? Does it give more units to the Romans? Does it give you post-Marian units at the start?

They look great! Not sure if I like the plume on the urbans, but v.v. good all the same. I'm having trouble downloading it from that link, though - have you thought of uploading it to the downloads section?

edit: ah, got it now - just had to wait a while for the download!

hmmm, in the download theres a map called "sprites" , cant find this map in my data folder?
i use rtr 6.3.
 
YES, in RTR folder theres a folder named sprites, and it contains all of the sprites for RTR, but some of the units i use for this minimod need their own sprites, so ... :happy:, the folder in the download is a diferent folder from the RTR folder, and it includes ONLY the sprites for the new units
 
ive putted the sprite folder from the download into my rtr data folder and started a rtr game with greek, i opened a battle with one unit of spartan hoplites, i saw the the game still used the sprites of the original rtr, not the one of the new spartan hoplite.
 
yes,the units that already were in RTR like the spartans and the Early cohort (also the equites alares, the general guard and others) still using the same sprites for reduce the size of the zip, anyway you didn¡t need to move the folder in the download, you just unzip it into the Rome total war folder :cool:
 
i tried a custom battle but RTW crushed with this error:
"filename doesm't exit: Data/RTR/models_unit/rome_late_centurian_high.cas
all I've done is paste data folder...

the problem comes when you select legionaries (the one from RTR, non the late legionaries you added)

i've tried only in custom battle (I still waiting for marian reform in campain) are they still avalible in cumpain game?
 
Let's see Johnny, yes the imperial units activates after the marian reforms in the campaign map,the file you miss ...well i check it out and my version find it , perhaps you somehow delete it?or a bad installation??
anyway i submit the missing file in this atachment, paste it in the folder you mencioned before
 
Very nice, this mod looks very great, but unfortunatlly I dont have time to play mods as I got to make them. But seriuosly if I still had RTR I would definatly get this mod :)
 
don't worry , i'm still working in a mod but is not over RTR, it's going to take time because the models takes a lot of time to build, and it will be about the persian wars not the romans, but anyway i hope to finish the first model for monday :cool:
 
This looks very cool. I like that it it adds in the "best of the best" units, regardless of time frame.

One thing though, you didn't update the units descriptions for Onagers. The text needs to be fixed there.

Aside from that, awesome job. I just added this to my Roman campagn and like the variety it adds, turtle formation is back, and the Spartans look badass!
 
Also, the mercs seem messed up now. I can buy Egyptian mercs in Greece, and their unit cards are all of peasents. I like your mod allot, but these things need to be fixed a bit.

Biffius, is not the first time i heard about thet mercenary problem thing, are you on a savegame from a previus campaign before installing my mod??????? My custom mod only works whit a clean campaign , and a clean RTR (no vanilla ,BI or other stuff)

and please if you can, what is btw???
 
sorry, i'm not planing to modify much from the original RTR , i think they did a great job whit this unique mod, and i'll try to modify the mod the less i can, i only add these units because they were my favourite ones, and i miss them so much!!! :)

This minimod was a personal thing and it's uploaded as it was build...for me!! :thumbsup: LOL
But i'm open to sugestions, to change some units or skin if you think there's another better out there, or whatever
 
I think im that guy that Carajudo is talking about. I had that same problem playing a previously saved game with rome in the post marian era. I thought it was it weird being able to recruit agemas in italy. A clean install does solve the problem, i know thats the only painful part.:crying: :) But im having a blast now :thumbsup:
 
OK, thanks very much for the info. I'll try a new campaign. I really like this mod because it makes it more of a best vs best game.

Well, Carajudo, i'm really happy to see you back! So just a few comment but remember that i love you're mod, right!
For Roman, maybe you can remove onager and replace the unit with the legionary cavalry, it will be better.
You can edit the end of the game at 100 AD, by this way you're mod will be fun AND historically accurate.
And now the BIG thing, will be if you can add the wonderfull Signifer one animation pack to you're mod, will be simply perfect!

i have the same chat minutes ago....


If you watch carefuly the future loading screen whit the spartan...i'm using already the signifer one animations compatible whit RTR 6.2 (hotfix), but just for my personal RTR, i'm not planing to include the mod in my mod zip untill i get signifer's permission, the fact is that i'm testing signifer one animations compatibility whit my minimod, and it CTD many times,but i already find a temporal solucion for that, i put the sword again for all the hoplites, that seems to fix the CTD, anyway i'm only using the new animations for the hoplites since the legions loose too much flexibility whit the new animation

Anyway what i can do for now is this:

Install RTW
Install RTR 6.0
Install RTR 6.1,6.2 and the hotfix
Intall then the Signifer one animation mod ( the one compatible whit 6.2 and hotfix)
and THENNN (TIRED AHH??) Install this Signifer one compatible mod of Imperial Units for RTR (my mod)

If you were already playing whit my hotfix compatible mod, then you just need to install the signifer one 6.2 compatible mod , and then this version of my mod, don't worry, this thing is all about animations so you can still using my mod savegames (i'm using my saved campaign and ....not a single problem)
