CAE Bugs&CTDs Thread

Hi, awesome mod, but i downloaded 1.3 last night and when i try to play the grand campaign it crashes, it loads up and then crashes, ive reinstalled it and it still won't work, please help as i love your mod

Try this :
unistall the previous CAE version and DELETE Cloudsovereurope folder. Reinstall the new version and tell me if it works.
I did just that and it works without any problems.

Last night there was a CTD problem with the v1.3,I fixed that and reuploaded so you may have downloaded before the CTD is fixed so Try this quick fix at this link below:

I just downloaded CAE 1.3 and when I select a faction (any faction) and hit start I get a CTD. I'm new to MOD's so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or I need to fix something. Any help out there???

Asta666,in v1.3 The Mongols are removed from the Optional folder and added defaultly in the Grand Campaign mod and is selectable in the Faction Selection Screen,just at that screen choose Mongols to play.

It seems unless there is some sinister and über scripting this seems to be the most effective solution,indeed your report had played a great role on me spotting the desctruction-nondestruction thing

Personally I haven't tried anything about Papal States just yet,but I'm sure now that they can be made vulnerable via optional file,it should prove to be quite interesting

haha it works, They were defeated. i tried as Sicily. No papal armies nor pope left in the game. BUT I am startin to worry that when the pope dies, as there are no heir, the faction will die with him too, i mean dies of age. Have you seen if that works?

So the event of "faction destroyed" popped up? Didn't it? Good to hear..

Hmm.. I see what you mean,well the AI always tends to adopt some generals as family members,so I guess there won't be much problem about it..

yep they died, their "prince" became rebel when Rome was taken. in someway I feel happy about that. too happy

Whenever Im besieged by any enemy armies, the enemy has siege equipment (ladders, rams and etc), however all they do is just drop all their siege equipment and stand there. Nothing happens at all. Im playing on Medium Difficulty for battle and campaign if that matters and CAE 1.2. Ive tired other factions whenever the opposing armies besiege my Castle or any city with walls will just drop their siege equipment and do nothing. Anyone else have this problem?

Sometimes it happens, depending on which faction that attacks. I mean if Lithuania attacks me with three units they leave. but with 9-10 units they stay.

there is a 1.3 version now, do you have that one?

I patched straight from 1.2-1.3a, now another problem persists. Some add-ons and fixes dont seem to work, like the addition of the new faction, the relocation of Kwarizmians and the new cities. Some of the add-ons and fixes work like the new Jerusalem logo and some addition units for the Lithuanian Faction.

try removing CAE completly before updating to 1.3a, sometimes upgrading can have odd effects

CAE 1.2 must be totally gone if you are to install the 1.3 version. If you don't the game won't work correct.

Apparently the factions that siege my walled cities and castles in SS4.1 also just drop their siege equipment and proceed to run back and stand there. The amount of forces is even in the battle. Seems that the only time I ever gotten sieged and the AI actually attacks is against Vanilla Mongols. CAE and SS4.1 besieging AI both just drop siege and run back to avoid fire and stand there.

Maybe that is the reason, you have two mods. i mena pretty often mods can mix up with each other. and the result is somekind of CTD or other problem with the grand Campaign or custom battles.
