    Hey Zephrelial,
    I have 1 little problem since i installed the CAE 1.3 Mod
    Some of my text is gone If you play the campaign for example and you click a city, you can see the numbers of the population but you can't see the words, Population, itself. I am missing some text. Or if you want to automanage you can't see the word 'automanage'
    do you know what i mean?
    and how can i Fix this?
    btw Your mod is great!

    Hello Schattenmeister..

    If you are using any other mods I'll ask you to install CAE after installing them until I increase the isolation percentage of CAE.

    The sequence is as follows :

    1- installation of mtw2.
    2- installation of mtw2 patch v1.2 (don'T install patch v1.1 over 1.2 this causes CTD).
    3-Finally install CAE v1.3 and when installing don't change the default installation directory of the installer program...

    I request you to go to the following directory below and paste here the last 6-7 lines of your system.log.txt file

    Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\logs

    There was a missing strat model that caused the start up CTD while I was firts uploaded CAE v1.3 but that was fixed and was reuploaded along with the mod a long time ago.

    Hello Freezoide Try this:

    while installing CAE,change the default installing directory of CAE to for instance freezzoide folder,and go inside the freezoide folder at the directory:

    CloudsAcrossEurope\data\text

    Copy and paste the contents of the text folder to the directory:

    Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\CloudsAcrossEurope\data\text

    Now rerun your game start a new campaign and see if the problem still exists,and also load your saved game and see if it's fixed there or not.(text fixes should be immediately effective)

    Also don't forget to delete the freezoide folder and it's contents after you've copied and pasted the text files...

    Thank you for your fast answer. I reinstalled the hole thing and if works now. The mod lokks really good, but i didn't had much time to test it.

    You're welcome Schattenmeister.. I'm glad to hear that now it works now but still this is very strange.. (the start up CTD's)...

    Make sure you download this CTD-Bugfixer for CAE

    that I released just a few hours ago.It contains some bug and Ctd fixes or you may experience a long termed CTD while playing campaign.

    Hope you'll enjoy the mod,don't hesitate to report any problems here.

    so here are all the informations about bugs/CTD reported on another post...

    You're not bothering me no prob.

    The fix is not save game compatible.Have you started a new campaign or just loaded your saved game and continued after you installed the fixer?
    I just loaded a saved game...but the CTD I have are exactly the same than before....

    The problem was due to a misplacement of some abbasid names which creates a long termed CTD.
    Ok till now no problem with Abbasid

    I will check Scotland and Poland,also keep in mind when you get a CTD instantly report at the CTD and bugs thread:
    So I just tried again, so I'm in year 1310, playing the French, and I have a CTD (in fact it's not exactly a CTD, I have an error message from windows saying it has created an error and will now close) : the two last ones : French against Polish in the city south to Minsk (can't remember the name), and French against Scottish besieging Antwerp.
    I often have this bug when my assassins try to kill some people, i.e. scottish chief besieging Antwerp, or many other diplomats and mostly when they try t kill merchants, whatever their faction is....


    Also indicate whom you were fighting against with who.. and to post the last 6-7 lines of the system.log.txt located in the directory: Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\logs is essential for me to spot and fix the CTDs and bugs..

    I checked about bugs with assassins and it seems in the log file that many portraits are missing

    I installed MTW2, than patch 1.2, than CAE1.3, but my path is different than the one recommended...J:\MTW2 is mine...does that mean I absolutely have to re-install the whole stuff under the default path???:hmmm:

    I have just one question before i venture in this mod.I think you have already answered in the install directions but i want to be sure.I have the UAI mod installed and wanted to know if this mod will not be affected or affect each other.I'am also considering using BigMap mod which claims to be compatible with many mods.Would you have any info on these subjects?

    I went to look at my family tree and.. its.. gone.. for like the last 10 turns my family members been bangin and spitting out kids left and right. But the family tree only shows the orginal faction leader and his dead wife.

    Anyone ever have this problem before?

    Never encountered this before personally.. have you tried loading your last save point and see if it's fixed by doing so?

    Also which faction were you playing with?

    Yes I just tried loading from an old save point, Yr 1233. On the next turn a bride is presented. If I chose yes OR no. I lose the family tree.

    Im playing as Milan
    only thing I changed was timescale to 1.5

    I hav uninstalled CAE and MTW2, and then re-installed (MTW2, patch 1.2, CAE) according to the default path, as you had said it may be reason for major CTD....
    Unfortunately, I began a whole new grand campaign, and I still have the same problems :
    -error messages and then having to quit CAE when trying to kill some merchants (danish one with french assassin near Antwerp, after only some few tours)....

    so here is again the new log file (only latest lines)

    Well, frankly I have no idea at all Scorch.Milan is a faction that I haven't done any changes to except in the optional folder it's made passive by decreasing the starting denari...

    I'm not sure if timescale can actually cause this bug either.

    Ok Karlis here is what I'm going to do I'm going ro start a campaign with some factions and try assassinating merchants and other characters and I'll see if the samething will happen to me.

    If in French territory there are mines that are visuable on the map,and if the city's population is big enough you should be able to build them.


    EDIT:

    I've run a multiple tests with French assassins I tried to assassinate English merchant,diplomat and princess in some I succeeded in some the assassin got killed or missed the target.I also tried to assassinate the Danish princess and merchant...

    I didn't have a CTD although I checked the log file and it reported exactly like the one you posted.

    Also I checked the French territory there aren't any mines there so it's normal that you can't build mines.

    Let me ask you a question Karlis.. Are you using an english version of mtw2?

    Hey Zeph..

    I started up from an older save point (1230) and where the family tree was all good. After a few turns everything was good. Then in 1245 my faction leader died at age 60. I check the family tree and it's gone. So I exit the game, restart it and reload the previous turn 1244, in 1245 my faction leader is still around (age 61). I check the family tree and all is good. The next turn (1246) the faction leader dies (age 62) and my family tree is gone/missing.

    Hope that helps. Maybe it has something to do with the pic when a family member dies? Thats all I can think of, but I dont know anything about mods. Your the master of that.

    Anyways if anything changes in the future of my game ill let you know. Thanks again for the speedy responce Zeph.

    PS - even thoe I cant vote yet on 1.4 thingy. Personaly I rather wait for the whole thing. Cuz if 1.4 came out I would start playing it and then by the time 1.5 comes out I wouldnt finish my 1.4 game and just start a new one for the features of 1.5 - just my 2 cents..

    Hello Zeph

    first of all to answer Eranshar, installing the CAE bugfixer doesn't change anything...

    Zeph you may be right about the reasons for all these problems, I'm using a french version of MTW2....if I change the language when installing it, I don't think it'll change anything in folders and files used by the game, but not sure...

    I just checked some files in my MTW2 folders, they all have english names...but may be I didn't check the right files...

    One question. Does it take usually really long waiting for a turn(while on the mongol sign)..it happens with any fraction who I play...and it stops at mongols especially long...usually after the sign comes that mongol invasion started.thanks

    As the number of factions that are active during the campaign increases,and is numerable,so does the waiting time between turns.

    As long as you don't get a CTD I believe it would hurt nobody to wait just a little longer,if you ask me

    A question concerning the "options".
    I've installed CAE 1.3, then the bugfixer with new descr_sm_factions.txt, which overwrites the previous ones, and pretty much makes the "options" (undestroyable factions) and etc, uncompatible...
    What to do if i want to have understroyable factions?
    Also in the readme, the instructions are kinda confusing. It says to copy the file from Teutonic order folder, but what is the undestroyable factions folder is for? is that a typo?
