Take the role as Gil-galad, last High-king of the Noldor, or Elendil, High-king of the Númenóreans in exile, as they rally Elves and honourable Men into the League which is called the Last Alliance.
The counter-invasion Tôl Acharn, 'Vengeance Comes', allows you to move mighty hosts against the Dark Lord.
Strengthen the cause of the League if you wish to, as the indomitable Durin IV of Khazad-dûm, or as the brave riders of Rhovanion (using the Dunedáin Counter Invasion mechanic).
Unless you wish instead to fulfill the will of Sauron? Unleash the hunger of Orcs and wolves, be the warlord over the Easterlings, command the savage natives of Eriador to recapture their homelands
or reign as a Black Númenórean lord at the head of the grim Haradrim, in the Invasion of the West.
Will the Men of the Mountain be loyal to the Númenóreans or become the Oathbreakers? The choice is yours.

DCI Last Alliance installer instructions:
1. Download the file below and extract/unzip its contents.

DCI Last Alliance manual installation instructions:

4. Run CreateLauncher.bat - located in your '...\Medieval II Total War\mods\third_age_3\dcilaOtherFiles' folder. This creates a shortcut on your desktop and deletes tatw start.bat.
5. Launch the mod by double clicking the 'DCI Last Alliance' icon on your desktop or the DCILA.bat file (DCILA_NoBaiSwitcher.bat will run DCI:LA without the battle AI switcher).
Optional: delete the Third Age Total War shortcut from your desktop if you have one.
Optional: open your cfg file and switch the [log] level from trace to error.
Additional music tracks (some Med2/Kingdoms tracks as well).
Reshuffled existing music tracks.
Separated HotN and WoE music types, HotN has more viking and WoE more tribal vibe.
Tôl Acharn and DCI mechanics:
The "Tôl Acharn" is a 'counter invasion', the Medieval 2 Jihad-feature renamed; just as TATW has the "Invasion" for the evil factions, which in turn is the Crusade-feature renamed.
Factions with the culture 'Hosts of the West' [religion islam] can join the Tôl Acharns at will.
The unique DCI mechanics allow factions of other cultures [religions] to temporary join the Tôl Acharn, if allied to the calling faction of the 'counter invasion'.

Awesome! Congratulations for moving the submod out of the beta stage and into version 1.0! Very cool and +1 rep. The beta version is fantastic, so this must be utterly superb.
Congratulations on the release! I have installed the LAA, but as Mordor in battles I command myself the game crashes regularly, without an error message or something, just freezes for 2 secs and the game shuts down. On the campaign map this has not happened to me yet. Is the problem known?

Yes it's known. We're still looking into it. Anecdotally, lowering your graphics detail and restarting your computer after a crash seems to help.
Tips for turning the Men of the Mountains into the Army of the Dead (a.k.a: Isildur's Curse script):
After Isildur cursed the Men of the Mountains in the Stone of Erech, capture these Calenardhon settlements immediately when turning rebel:
Tirith Onodlo
Burh Beorg
Oferwaden
Athrad Angren
Defend Nen Hitoel against the Oathbreakers to finish the script. Leave Dunharrow alone, for lore reasons.
In summary:
Capture Calenardhon immediately after the curse had started and gone rebel. Not doing this will crash the game.
I think we have a problem on the pauldrons, used by the Numenorean Kingdoms generals, Harad generals, the Numenorean Guardians, Barim al-Azul, and thhe Zigurun Order members.
A portion of the pauldrons do not match to the texture intended for the pauldron itself.
Instead, the texture assigned to those portions is actually from the TATW Arnor Men-at-Arms boot.
I edited the texture, and checked if the leg guard UV do not interfere or overlap with the pauldron texture.
It doesn't really overlap.
If able, please re-edit the texture, otherwise it will be a nuisance to see.

Thanks, maybe this helps others getting the crash! Have you managed to get any usefule information from a crash log?

Never noticed it but as you proved it's an easy fix. Maybe you could upload your texture, so we could use it then instead of remaking it and other people who are bothered by it could download it aswell?

I just used the campaign script for reference, and doing some experiments. The only thing that makes the game crash after the curse was initiated, is that the Oathbreakers recaptured the settlements listed. If those rebel settlements were buffed enough to repel the Oathbreaker forces, but nerfed enough for the Numenorean Kingdoms to capture it, there's a chance that the script worked.

That depends on Louis Lux's decision. Posted this also on Discord, he said he will fix it. I think Earl of Memory has the original files when he's doing the retextures.

Interesting. I'll take a look.

You can upload your fix. I'm working on new stuff at the moment so it will take some time till I get around to making fixes.
I am having some problems launching DCI Last Alliance. For some reason my Third Age folder was named Third_Age_4. I installed DCI with the installer, but it didn't work. I then renamed the folder to the correct name, and reinstalled DCI, which seemed to put the files in the right place, but if I double-click the dcila.bat file, it just launches vanilla M2TW. Could anybody help me? thx.

I think it's best to delete your Third Age folder and start the installation from the start. Start with DCI:Last Alliance 1.0 requirements in the OP. There are download options for Third Age 3.2, either 7zip or installer, just pick one. I also recommend watching the installation instruction video. If you're still having issues after re-installing rename your configuration.cfg file to TATW.cfg.
