Not everyone can afford to go to the theatres, as of right now. Do not trust what they say until September 5.

First two episodes were incredible. Tour de force. Galadriel is amazing...

Yeah so far I liked it. I appreciated the call "forwards" to Elrond and Galadriel's mannerisms in LOTR.

I don't like it, not in the slightest. Very terrible writing and acting, armor is sheite, and the only noteworthy design is Khazad-dum.
The fact that Ngugi is not here makes the situation worse.

I totaly agree. US movie industry tents to destroy all kind of book stories in the worst way. Galadriel as a "commando" leader is 100% out of Tolkien's story about her. Also Elrod had no Authority to speak to her as equal because she was from the House of the Royal House taht still ruled Elvs and sister of numerus Elvish High Kings of the past. Elrod born in the end of the western middle earth when world reshaped. I do not have much expectation of any authencity of this series..Like they did with Dracula and so many other historical of fiction characters! We may see Star Wars Jedai knights to help Elvs!
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

Absolute atrocity of tolkien's world! It's pure garbage.
People who clearly like this are casuals who know nothing of middle-earth, simple as that.

Pure hacks who defile tolkien's work as a platform for their modern ideologies.

I decently liked it and I know a lot about tolkien, both intellectually and sentimentally
fact is that I respect other people work, mostly when requires leading hundreds of people, tons of pre-production work, tons of post production work

on the contrary I think that people who are not "decently" enjoying RoP (till it still has some decency regarding the way it tells a tale) just need to feel limited inside useless parentheses that were built by other people
I call those useless parentheses useless lore

    but that's just me
we watch tons of crap things (porn, wrestling, comedies... jesus the world is full of crappy stuff) why we should feel offended when they talk about tolkien? because we enjoyed it and we want it to be frozen in time?
there is only one tolkien, the book one, everything else has nothing to do with tolkien
don't loose your time searching for tolkien outside tolkien books
just watch and enjoy it (till is not full crap) or simply don't watch it and avoid to judge other people work like you were in the same time entrepreneurs, writers, directors, actors, technicians, artisans... you aren't
and if you would have been you would have done a much worse job 'cause you're simply not capable (I wouldn't have been capable for sure)
other people are decently capable and they at least are trying to build a tale inside a difficult context instead of judging from a chair.

I liked the ambient and the graphics, but there is something fundamentally wrong about it and I cannot pinpoint what. I can tell that this is a Fantasy world of great proportions, but I cannot say that it is Middle-Earth.

Our lady Galadriel is now a wanna-be Wonder Woman with the motivation of... Revenge ?? Is that really what you want to teach your kids? That fighting for revenge for your dead brother is a good thing? Is that a Christian value? A Tolkien value? As Christians we are thought that love is the best motivation there is, and that we are encouraged to defend love if need be but not through the motivation of revenge. The scene where Galadriel just threw herself to the ocean was ridiculous, how did she plan to swim hundreds of Miles to the coast? If she is such a hero why make such impulsive actions just to be saved by armor plot? It is ridiculous. I didn't like the depiction of male elf warriors, when they are shown afraid of travelling further north, they just felt craven, not like the impetuous warriors that defeated evil, just for the sake of the argument that Galadriel = Hero, random elf warrior = dumb, just feels like bad writing.

Then there is manipulative Elrond who manipulates the dwarves through his "friendship" to get what his lord is commanding him to do... is that really the Lord and Wise Elrond that we see eons into the future (surely he learned how to be like that later in his life)?
And then we have these interactions between races that don't want to mix amongst themselves, which just really feels forced. Elves racist? Men feeling like minorities compared to the all-powerful elves?

I liked how the Orcs were introduced, as something terrible and awful, but that your cow somehow gets a black ooze instead of Milk because it ate from where the orcs established encampment just doesn't feel natural at all or even plausible.

    Overall:
I like the series, but I cannot say that THIS is Middle-Earth, it just feels like another fantasy world to add to the pile. That saying, I do like the visuals, they are stunning. I like some of the clothes, they are well made. I especially like the dwarves.

    true
plot will surely lack decent relations between characters, facts, development ecc ecc
mostly if they'll do 5 seasons

but there really are few tv series that keep overall high quality around, I honestly would stay stickied to an hour of weekly entertainment and stop, as we could do with other half-crappy stuff we might be used to watch

    Season 1 summary:
Third Age Total War models are way better than their Numenorean Army, crap dialogue, crap logistics, gross lore breaking (worse than PJ's Hobbit) with Saurondriel as the main ship (I'm not kidding, Halbrand is Sauron).

Overall, models who used this Eru-awful show as reference will be anathema.

I think Brett Devereaux has pointed at some issues here.
