I can't wait for the disputes between the People's Front of Cyrene and the Cyrenean People's Front. Nor for the people called Romans, they go, the house. Although to be fair, the chances of that last actually being scrawled on a wall are pretty high given the expected Latin literacy of the sort of person who would write that.
Preview IV - Silphium
According to Herodotus some of the best agricultural land in Africa could be found in Cyrenaica, which allowed it to be known as one of the biggest granaries of the ancient world. But this land's biggest claim to fame was a plant called silphium - Cyrene's characteristic export and emblem. Discovered by the Greek colonists, it soon became known for its many uses and tremendous worth. It was used as theurapeutical agent (with many uses such as combating fever, breaking down clots, fighting epilepsy, stomach pains, tooth aches, eye infections and more), a condiment, plant growth stimulant and also animal fodder. It shouldn't come as a surprise that it was extremely precious to the people of Cyrenaica - so much so that it became Cyrene's symbol, proudly displayed on its coinage throughout the ages.
Sadly this extremely valuable plant supposedly became extinct through overharvesting by the time of Pliny the Elder (AD 23/24 – 79).
1. New resource
We're introducing a new trade resource, which can only be found in one location - main settlement of Kyrene.
2. Silphium building chain
We're also implementing a whole new building chain. Which, naturally, can only be built in Kyrene itself, where the resource is found. The first step always begins with a simple Silphium Gatherer, which then can expand into three distinct branches:
Farm
2) Silphium Farm
3) Silphium Fields
4) Silphium Landed Estates
Trader
2) Silphium Trader
3) Silphium Market
4) Elephant Trading Hub
Warehouse
2) Silphium Storage Pit
3) Silphium Granary
4) Silphium Storehouse
All of the above trees finally lead into the Mega Emporion at level 5, which will provide combined effects from all of the buildings in the chain.

We'll see you in two weeks, when we'll talk more about technology trees.
How is the mod going so far? I'm really excited and want more stuff about citizenry.
Preview V - Technology Trees (Military Settlers)
After some thought we've decided to rework all of the Cyrenaean technology trees from the ground up. We will be replacing all of the existing technologies and trees themselves will also be changed. For example, a tree we're previewing today is focused on the military settlers (Cleruchs, Jews and Libyans) - as you move deeper into the tree you're gradually increasing their role in your budding society, granting them more land and privileges. But everything, of course, comes at a price - you will also have to be wary of the cultural effects it will have on your kingdom. Our aim is to make these decisions rewarding, but also challenging.
Below you'll find a small taste of what we have prepared.
1. Graeaco-Libyan Blood Ties
- Unlocks Libyan Encampment III
- Increases Population Class III by X %
- Plus X to Libyan culture influence
- Reduced penalty due to the presence of Libyan culture
2. Jewish Hellenization
- Unlocks Jewish Politheuma III
- Increases Population Class II by X %
- Reduces penalty due to the presence of Jewish culture
- Plus X to Hellenic culture influence
3. Establish Cretan Cleruchies
- Unlocks Cretan Cleruch Archers
- Increases Population Class I by X %
- Increases ranged accuracy for all units by 1
- Plus X shots per minute for all land units
4. Full Preview
The icons above are work in progress, we will likely add unique ones in the future.

Preview VI - Kyrene
Kyrene was chosen for settlement not to facilitate trade, but to exploit its rich soil. Herodotus describes, with barely contained awe, Kyrene's three annual harvests and crops ripening successively on the three terraces of the plateau. The bounty of the land was so plentiful, in fact, that it become exported in mass both to Greece itself and Egypt. But of course the famous riches of Cyrenaica didn't end there - silphium was its perhaps best known symbol, appearing on coinage throughout the ages. Will Kyrene become a fortified town, famed for its strong garrison, a center of philosophy, or perhaps a trading hub? The choice is yours.
1. Kyrene Main Settlement Chain
As you can expect, Kyrene main settlement can be further upgraded into one of the three distinct branches. From the left - military, civic and trade.

2. Silphium
Kyrene is the only settlement in which this precious resource can be found, making it doubly important - with it you can unlock a profitable building chain, further improving your Kingdom's economic prowess. Find out more about it here.
3. DLC System
As the center of your rule, Kyrene allows you to recruit Libyans, Jews and Cleruchs without the need of constructing the Military Settlement. The very best units, however, are still locked behind the final building in the Military Settlement Chain (Libyan Encampment, Cleruch Estates and Jewish Politeuma). Find out more about the DLC System here.

On that note, we'll be talking a bit of a break with previews, expect to see us again back this year, however.
Do you guys consider a beta for this mod?
I hope for a new update soon.
