Thread: Writers' Study Duels: Commentary, discussing, trash talking - ALL HERE!

The lack of a topical theme is meant to be inspiring and liberating

I've changed the pic to a better version of the same thing. Should be more obvious what it's meant to be. Still up to the contestants to decide what to write about though

Paragon, we could just pick a theme we're both comfortable with. Then we write something like an AAR update, but then in the form of a short story. I think it would be great fun!

For those who tend to like it, a mud-sling version of these same lines...

So, I understand that you're not feeling up to the task. I wouldn't either, when facing a linguistic giant like myself! But eh, even the dogs get a chance to eat the remainder of a king's dinner. So why wouldn't you learn - yes, I believe you are capable of that action - some little things from accepting my challenge? If you refuse, well.. there's nothing left to be said about you.

I don't see why you should brag about having a huge tongue. It's a very serious problem. If you keep falselly boasting it will get so big you'll choke yourself to death And at least I'm edible, when I'm done with you, not even dogs won't want to eat your remains.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Nah but seriously if anything ask me tomorrow, I'm writing an update for the AAR now and I wouldn't like to get it late AGAIN.

We can start whenever we want mate, I've reserved this evening for another update as well.

Let's use this week to think about a proper theme, there's time enough to brag and throw mud and write and use too many 'and'-clauses.

As he says, better for this weekend of something. I have a demanding schedule for my own AAR and he seems to have a similar problem to me.

No no, luck is that thing you have which allows you to scrape through. What I have is skill and talent - still, why am I discussing that with you, they're probably out of your reach

For those about to lose (that's you), we you

What about next Friday evening for the pic? Then we'd have next week to write the submissions. As for the theme, will we be allowed to make it up ourselves or will you give us one?

If I may, you decide yourselves, after you have seen the picture .

As our most Lannister friend has said, you two decide the theme between you.

And ybbon, a deadline of Sunday perhaps?

Got any idea yet Shanky? I've had loads of good ones, and quite a few discarded ones too - I can spare one of my lesser efforts if you like? It would still look like a diamond among the lumps of coal you probably have, but I'll let you have a go at them if you like?

Heh, I sort of feel like Michaelangelo offering his sketches to a 5 year old with a big box of crayons

Someone is getting too big for their boots.

I don't want to tell you, for fear of embarrassing you in front of everyone .
