at least this trailer shows a lot more detail of about what to come, while the first so called and also controverse discussed ingame footage trailer was heavily edited with Adobe After Effects or sorts.

Nice looking walls there, I spotted that first. Animation is not so epic, but this is pre-alpha. Water and ships are nice, but I hope for some ''more colorful'' grass and environment.

Yeah the actual battle animations- which is the most important - needs to be improved but I doubt they will be bothering with this till deadline

Why should the department responsible for animations not work on animations now?

I would like to be so positive like you regarding CA.... the last releases were a waste of time ..they should have worked on this instead.

its pre Alpha so combat animations are missing as well as Pila are not thrown.. anyway,Romans didn't used archers en masse at that period of time so those flaming arrows shouldn't be probably present.

Epic. The Grand Scale of the battle looks so much larger than rome 1. i like how u have different parts of the city u can attack or protect. i always thought it was lame in rome 1, when if you were getting over run. all your army went to the plaza for one final stand. one thing i'm really looking forward too besides the animations, is improved AI. i want to feel like i'm actually fighting someone with intelligence, instead of a 50 IQ computer. Nice so far thought, can't wait. They said mid of next year, so i'm guessing July, August 2013?

what impressed me a lot above everything else is defensive position of besiegers, trenches, and wooden palisade, thats a really great improvement.
It really gives you a feeling about battle, I read somewhere that depending on a time spent on siege, reflects the whole enviorment, which eliminates the part about every battle being the same.

Then again Rome 1 was WAY ahead of other strategy games(or even games in general) in terms of graphics when it came out.

Yes, it should. Just like Spore should have been the edgier, deeper and darker thing it was on the alpha instead of the kinder garden adventure it became at release. But meh, that's moot now. I just saw the whole video. Simply epic.
