I think you may have a hardware problem (graphics related). State your problem in this forum: Medieval II: Total War Technical Help

Rapidshare just wont have it... it is full of errors and wont even give me the download... I have made a free account and they continuously try to get me to buy their software... is there any other way to download this mod? IVe been trying to get it since it has come out but i always run into errors when trying to install/download... I have downloaded countless other mods and never had a problem as i have with this one... any help will be appreciated.

There is no need to become a member at RapidShare, but sometimes you might not get the proper screen, see attachment. Simply refreshh the page by pressing the F5 button and then click the marked button.
Alternatively use the torrent download at the bottom of the first post.

Awesome mod and great easy install package

I do have a problem though... I have read through the thread and couldn't make much sense of it (I'm certainly no computer whiz) so apologies if I have missed an answer to my question.

My problem is that I can play the game fine, on the world map and construct buildings and units etc, but as soon as I go in to the battle map I get an "unspecified error. Application will now exit" error message. I can do auto-resolve with no problems, however, but even entering battle in a custom battle causes this error.

    Any ideas?

I've been meaning to stop seeding for a while now, just never got around to it. This mod is amazing!

Did you unpack the main game?

I looked in the log and there are a lot of the following sort of things:

    17:45:50.714 [system.io] [warning] open: data/battlefield/cloud_sprite.tga.dds is missing
    17:45:50.920 [system.io] [warning] open: data/models/textures/weapon_phalanx_spear.tga.dds is missing
    17:45:51.503 [system.io] [warning] open: data/textures/battlefield_border.tga.dds is missing

Does this mean I've installed the mod incorrectly? There's a lot more textures that are being found than are not, but obviously some that aren't, which would explain why I played up to turn 20 on the strategy map but can't play for one second on the battle map

The log is set to a detailed report. That will also include warnings like the ones you copied here. These warnings are not critical and are usually file formats that are not used anymore.

If you have problems with a battle, then that sounds as if you have unpacked the game at some stage or the other.
If that is not the case, then star a custom battle and then please compress the complete log (to be found in medieval ii total war\logs) and attach it here.

    Gigantus or anyone else,

Trying to download from Rapidshare and my Norton AntiVirus keep deleting the file as it thinks it is a threat. Has anyone run into this? Anyone know of a work around? Tried to save or just run it and does not work. I downloaded all of the other files but cannot get the 2nd exe file.

    Please help,

    Falconander

Apparently, this installer is using part of english voice mod by galloper and ninja51 (with dwarven voice removed). I noticed in my recent battle that goblins in orc army sounds like another orc when it should sound like goblin. Iirc, in galloper's voice mod, goblin's voices are different from orc in orc's army.

After a skim through the thread, ninja51 mentioned that galloper edited his EDU to get it working.

I thought it should be fixed for improved immersion. But this is just small issue and not really a bug.

Units I remembered have different sounds are these:
    mauraders and Chaos knights
    Goblins and Orcs
Imperial soldiers serving sylvania (it's not done in the mod, because ninja51 said he don't want to edit the EDU, but I believes he will if all voices are done)

Norton can be a bit neurotic. See if you can 'quarantine' the file so you can you later restore it.

So far you are the only one coming up with that problem. If you have a fast connection I would recommend to download the torrent.

Great work Gigantus, thank you for making this mod accessible so easily. I am thoroughly enjoying it.
Just one thing, the Dark Elves seem to be using the Mongolian accents, is there anyway I can change this to any other accent without causing glitches to other factions?

You could try to change it in the descr_sounds_accents file. Afterward you need to delete the two events files (make back ups!) in data\sound for them to regenerate with the new instructions.

Guess you would have to unpack the sound files as well...
Rather cumbersome business, I might add.

Yeah, I'll just leave it as it is. Wouldnt want to screw the whole thing up just because of one accent.

What exactly did you do with the descr_sounds_accents file?

Well, I just changed the part where it said accents Mongolian for the faction Mongols (Dark Elves) to English. I guess that was too simplistic to work. What should I have done instead ?
p.s. sorry for the late reply my internet died.

You would have to delete this entry completely:

    accent Mongolian
    factions mongols

And then add the faction to the English section:

    accent English
    factions england, mongols
